A tall and mighty wooden door stood in the way of many voices. The wind flung it open, but it wasn't loud enough to disturb any of the people inside if you could call them people of course. A tall man with a navy-blue suit placed his hands on a desk in a bout of anxiety. His face held little to no emotion, yet everyone else in the room could feel the stress brewing off in him. "UN..." A black button-down man said, " Do you think..." UN immediately looked up, almost offended that the man would ask such a question. "It will work. She's still out there, it has to work this time." Other people in the room looked at each other with sympathy.
It had been exactly a year since (y/n) had gone missing. Many countries were beginning to hear about the unseen country, and although they were upset they hadn't been informed about her, they also understood it was for the good of her country. "Give me the orb." Mexico perked up and quickly rushed over to the UN. UN smiled politely and took the orb from him. Every country watched intently from their seats as the UN connected some plugs to a machine and turned on a switch. Air started to blow from the machine as the UN walked back towards it.
UN carefully placed the orb above the machine, allowing it to float. The lights in the room started to flicker, and countries looked around worryingly. They all looked back to the UN, who in turn was watching closely the machine and orb. The orb began to glow in a blue color as an image of the earth appeared. UN impatiently forced the message to go to the end. He crouched down close to the floor and pressed a few random buttons. Static electricity shot from the machine suddenly, only UN stayed still. "UN what are you doing?!" America reached for him but electricity shot at him and he fell to the floor.
Canada quickly rushed over to his brother and helped him up. All the countries unanimously decided to cautiously step away from the machine. The orb began to spin around and more electricity strung to it like a plasma ball. And yet, UN stood still, someone would comment that he had gone mad. The machine sounded as if it started to overwork itself. The orb shone again, but only for a moment. Suddenly the room flashed white and everyone was flung backward. Dust filled the room as if there was an explosion. "UN? UN are you alright?!" As the smoke cleared you could see France was on the ground coughing furiously.
UN was up against a wall while coughing and waving at the air. Every country stood up and went over to the UN to help him up. The table had been absolutely destroyed, and the machine sat in the middle of it. "Did.. did it work?" UN stood up while wiping down his suit. "Turn the lights on." Mexico again, carefully ran over to the light switch while avoiding the table. UN searched around the machine for a bit and then turned to the others. "Everyone looks around the room for the orb." Everyone complied and began to search.
Everybody gathered by the UN. "Did anyone find it?" Everyone looked around at each other before shaking their heads. UN smiled and chuckled before turning around. "It's finally worked!" Every countrys' eyes lit up at this statement and they all cheered, all except Britain. "Does this mean we could try to send a tracker? Or perhaps one of us?" Asked Ireland. UN turned to him and opened his mouth but was cut off by someone. "E-eh no.. the machine was only designed for orbs!" Everyone turned to Britain and gave a questioning look. He began to sweat.
He fixed the tie on his suit and cleared his thought, "Remember... The Earth mentioned it..?" Everyone shrugged or agreed. UN looked at Ireland. "We could probably tinker with it to be able to transport bigger items in the future." He smiled and went to go talk to other people, who had been in groups already. Britain sighed, and grabbed his cane and topcoat before heading to the door. "Britain." He turned, "Yes UN?" UN pointed to the mess with the table and the dust that was still everywhere. "You are going to stay to help clean up, everyone is."

(Y/n) fiddled with a rubber ball that she found, and bounced it off the concrete. (Y/n) had been in that basement for a year. She had lost track of the days, but she knew it had been a year because of the world meeting. It's strange to say I've been here for so long... her heart yearned for her siblings to find her already. but she knew it wouldn't happen, she had given up. She stood up carefully but wobbled a bit. She dragged her feet past astray paper plates, and plastic utensils.
My hair was matted and tangled, but I took it upon myself to at least find a brush for it. The many miscellaneous items, books, clothes, pencils, and many other things were strewn across the basement floor. I saw something small and shiny, and I reached out for it. It was a small ring... with a diamond! It might have been fake but it was still eye candy. I put it on my finger for the time being and walked around some more. I cringed as a droplet of water landed on me and I looked up while walking. I stumbled a bit as my foot caught the floor.
I stopped and took a moment to collect myself from the sudden scare. Suddenly a blue light slashed in front of me and something hit the ground. What the..? I picked it up and examined it. This is something I should sit down to look at. I quickly walked back to the area I got used to and sat down on my legs. I turned it around with curiosity, an orb had just flashed in front if me so it must be important. As I was fiddling with it, a hologram suddenly appeared and I dropped it by accident. It was... a hologram of the earth. Did they find me? The hologram flicked and glitched. It began to move, "Hello y/n."
My eyes widened with a mixture of fear and relief. "You are so strong right now... Do you know that? I am so, so, so proud of you..." tears pricked my eyes, "it's been almost over a year, and we're so close... you know?" The hologram smiled, almost seeming to cry a little as well. "I don't know if you've heard it at all (y/n), but happy birthday my strong country.

A tear pricked his eye and it shut off. I stood still in the complete darkness. Tears slipped from my eyes and rolled down my cheeks, I was so happy to finally hear someone. I smiled while sobbing. I shouldn't be crying I should be happy! They are going to find me, I will finally be able to see my siblings! I wiped my eyes and looked at the orb. I grabbed it and rushed over to a box in a corner, I opened it, and inside it held many beautiful things. I carefully placed the orb in the middle. It's almost time!
