Chapter 15-Early bird gets the worm

(Sorry this took so long, I was struggling with ideas and motivation. Also Rowdy's character design ^ pretend his hair's floofier-)

Moon opened his eyes. It was morning, almost time for the daycare to open. He sat up, forgetting for a moment why he was lying on the floor. "Hey Moony!" Chirped Sun. Moon turned to Sun. He was laying on his bed, staring at him with a bright smile. Which was strange, because usually Moon woke up before Sun, and usually when Sun first wakes he's still drowsy. But now, in front of him was a fully awake Sun. "Hey, why are up so early?" Moon asked. "It's not early, the daycare opens in a hour!" Sun exclaimed. "Yeah, but usually the earliest you get up is 30 minutes before it opens," Moon said. "Well, you know what they say, the early bird gets the worm!" Sun chirped. "Did you have trouble sleeping, is that why your up so early? Is something bothering you?" Moon asked in concern. "Nah, of course I didn't have trouble sleeping! But... there IS something bothering me..." Sun said with a thoughtful look. "What is it? Do you want to talk about it?" Moon asked. "I asked you a question once and you never gave me the answer... It hurt, and I wanna know the answer," said Sun. "What was the question?" Moon asked. "I think you might know," Sun said with a cold stare. Moon was confused. What could he be talking about? But then he remembered. "Is this about you asking who my crush was?" Moon asked. "Yes, I'm your best friend, I should know who your crush is. Unless... you don't trust me enough..." Sun said, breaking eye contact for the first time. "Oh no, Sun, of course I trust you it's just..." Moon started. "Just what?" Sun asked, making eye contact again. "My crush is... it's..." Moon said. "Who?" Sun asked.

All the words he had ever wanted to say to Sun were right there, on the tip of his toungue. But he couldn't. "I see... You really don't trust me," Sun said. "No, I-" Moon began. "It's fine, I understand," said Sun, sitting up and turning away from Moon. There was a long silence. "Its you..." said Moon under his breath. "What was that?" Sun asked, turning to Moon. "I said..." Moon started. He took a deep breath. "ITS YOU!" Moon blurted out. "What?" Sun asked in disbelief. "My crush... it's you," said Moon, daring to make eye contact. "It's.. me?" Sun asked in confusion. Moon nodded. Sun paused. "Gross... I don't think we should see each other anymore, if you feel like that," said Sun with disgust. "...What?" Asked Moon. "You heard me," said Sun, standing up. "...We can still be friends right?" Moon asked desperately. "No, not after that," Sun sneered. Sun starting walking away. "Sun, please..." Moon pleaded. "Goodbye, Moon," Sun said. The world around him faded into darkness, all he could see was Sun walking away. He felt tears forming in his eyes. "Sun! SUN! SUN PLEASE! PLEASE NO!" Moon cried. "Sun... please... come back...."

"moon? Moon! MOON! Wake up!" Moon jolted awake. Sun was sat down next to him, his hand on his shoulder. "Moon are you okay? You were calling me. Did you have a nightmare?" Sun asked with a worried expression. "It was a dream?" Moon asked. "Yeah, do you wanna talk about it?" Sun asked. "Thank god," Said Moon, hugging Sun tightly. Sun seemed a bit surprised, but hugged him back. "So, I'm guessing you don't wanna talk about it?" Sun said. "Not in detail... Let's just say I'm definetly not confessing to my crush now," said Moon. "What!? why not?" Sun asked, breaking from the hug. "Well, I did that in my dream, and they didn't even want to be my friend anymore... And I'm just scared that could happen in real life," explained Moon. "...If they're a real friend, they would stay with you even if they don't feel the same," said Sun. "Really?" Moon asked. "Of course! I mean if one of my friends confessed to me and they weren't my crush I'd-" Sun began. "Wait a minute, you have a crush?" Moon asked. Sun went silent, realizing his mistake. "Didn't you say if you had a crush you'd tell me who it was?" Moon asked, crossing his arms. Sun went red and stared at the ground in silence. "I'm sorry, I lied!" he squeaked.

They heard the loud slam of the daycare doors outside. "AYOOOO WE GOT THE DAY OFF!!!" Bonnie yelled. "REALLY!?" Sun asked, running to the balcony with Moon behind him. "YEAAAHHHHH!!!" Bonnie yelled excitedly. "Could you guys be any louder?" Rowdy asked, crawling out of the tunnel from Moon's room. "Sorry!" Sun said. "COME ON YALL, CHICA'S MAKING PANCAKES!" Bonnie said excitedly. "WE'RE COMING!" Sun yelled down. "Rowdy, do you want to come?" Sun asked. "Sure, why not?" Rowdy replied with a smirk. With that, Sun and Moon both jumped into the ballpit. By some miracle, they didn't land on top of each other. "Why didn't you just use the ladder?" Rowdy asked. "Because it's more fun!" Said Sun, getting out of the ballpit and skipping to the door, Moon walking with him. Rowdy ran over to them. Bonnie and Freddy were waiting outside, with Gregory standing beside them. "You got the goods?" Gregory asked, staring at Sun and Moon. "What?" Moon asked. "The fruit snacks," Gregory answered. "What is it with you and fruit snacks?" Moon asked. "I love fruit snacks. Fruit snacks are amazing, fruit snacks are life," Gregory replied. "Did you sleep well?" Sun asked in concern. "Just give me fruit snacks," Gregory demanded. "You do know Chica has some fruit snacks in the kitchen right?" Moon asked. "WELL THEN LET'S GO!" Said Gregory, running off to the kitchen.

Before they even entered the kitchen, they could hear Monty and Roxy screaming at each other. "PANCAKES AND WAFFLES ARE IN NO WAY THE SAME THING!!!" Monty yelled. "YES, THEY ARE THEY'RE JUST SHAPED DIFFRENTLY!!" Roxy yelled back. "Guys calm down!" Sun said. "Oh hey guys! Guess what?" Monty said excitedly. "What?" Bonnie asked, confused. "I broke the lights, so I just bought us 3 days of freedom, caz they have to order new lights caz they don't have any in storage," said Monty with a proud grin. "Wait, that was you?" Freddy asked. "Yep, and you wanna know where I got the idea?" Monty asked. "Isn't breaking stuff bad?" Sun asked. "I got it from Roxy, caz she was the one who broke the lights last time. She was raging after I won a game of golf," Explained Monty, ignoring Sun. "How did you know that???" Roxy growled. "I know golf club marks when I see them, and you were mad so I put two and two together," Monty said. "Wow, I didn't know you had the brainpower for that kind of thinking," Roxy said. "Do golf clubs even leave distiguishable marks?" Bonnie asked. "You b-" Monty started, turning to Roxy. "Ahem," said Freddy, pointing at Gregory. "I am surrounded by idiots," groaned Rowdy.

While they were waiting, everyone broke off into groups to socialize. Gregory went to the mapbots (he had a notepad and pen so the they could communicate with him), Freddy followed Bonnie, Roxy stood next to chica and had a conversation as she cooked, Sun, Moon and Rowdy all went together, and Monty was alone. "So, what should we do today now that we have the day off?" Sun asked. "Well, we could get to know each other better~" Said Rowdy. "Don't we have to get the daycare ready for valentines day?" Moon asked. "OH! Valentines day! I forgot again!" Sun said. "What?" Rowdy asked. "We have to decorate the daycare for valentines day, Bonnie's supposed to help but since we have the next few days off he probably wants to spend them with Freddy..." said Sun. "It's fine, we have the next 3 days, we can do it without Bonnie," said Moon. "How about I help you?" Rowdy offered. "Oh really?" Said Sun brightly. "Of course," Said Rowdy. "Thank you!" Said Sun, with a bright smile.

"Hey Moon, come here I need to talk to you," said Monty, taking Moon's arm and dragging him. "I can walk myself," said Moon sourly, wrenching his arm out of Monty's grip. "So what do you want?" Asked Moon, keeping an eye on Sun and Rowdy. "Wow, your more jealous than I thought," said Monty. "What?" asked Moon, making eye contact with Monty. "You don't like how Rowdy acts around Sun and you don't like that he's probably flirting with him right now," said Monty. "I'm not jealous, I just don't like him making Sun uncomfortable," Moon said. "Look at him right now. Does he look uncomfortable?" Asked Monty. Moon glanced at Sun. Rowdy was remaining a comfortable distance, he hadn't moved after Moon had left. Him and Sun seemed to be having a conversation, and Sun was smiling. This time though the smile seemed genuine. "You are definetly jealous, you should see your face right now," Said Monty. "I'm not jealous, I just don't want Sun to be uncomfortable," repeated Moon. "You already said that, just admit you're jealous," said Monty. "Fine. Maybe I am, why does that matter?" Moon asked coldly. "Because Valentines day is only a few days away~~" Said Monty is a sing song voice. "And?" Moon asked. "Confess," Said Monty. "I can't, he's not gonna feel the same," said Moon. "If you don't do anything, then Rowdy will," warned Monty.
