Eddie Finally Has A Bath

Ten minutes of awkward silence are more than I can bear. Bloodthirsty killer or not I could not keep doing this for any longer. I've been sitting on the couch and he's just been in the same spot against the wall. I turn my head to look at him and notice he still has his dirty torn clothes on and his hair is still gross and blood, probably mine, is smeared across his mouth. Jeez has he been in those clothes since he died?

"Would you like to take a shower?"

He glances at me and then looks away. Suddenly I feel bad for him. He looked so fragile and scared. I sigh and stand.

"Maybe a bath so you can sit down?"

"I'm fine.." He barely mumbles.

"You're filthy, pretty soon you'll start to smell so I think bath it is." I walk around the couch and towards the stairs, stopping when I get to the bottom of them. I look at him and gesture upstairs with my head. "Come on."

I begin walking upstairs and head to the bathroom. I sit on the side of the tub and start the bath, seeing Eddie stop in the doorway out of the corner of my eye. As the tub fills up I add some soap to the water for a bubble bath. I move the soap around with my hand and then stand. I look over and see him staring at the floor. He looked worse than a kicked puppy.

"You gonna want help or do you think you can handle it?"

He shrugs and I sigh.

"Look I know you feel bad but I'm still breathing and if Henderson is right about keeping you fed then no problem. We can't fault you for something you can't control. Now come on."

I grab his arm and tug him over so I can close the bathroom door. "Arms up." He lifts them up and I slide his shirt up over his head and toss it to the ground. "I think we'll be burning these clothes once their off."

I finish helping him strip out of his clothes, avoiding looking at his goods obviously. I turn around so he can get into the tub and when he's in I turn the water off and begin tackling the rats nest that is his hair.

It only took 45 minutes but his hair was now back to its curly clean self. "You know you actually have really nice hair when it's not caked with mud."

A small chuckle escapes his lips "Thanks."

I brush out the last piece of hair and set the brush down on the edge of the tub "There I think you're all better now, just let me go grab you some clothes to put on." I stand and leave the bathroom.

I grab some clothes from my room and head back into the bathroom to see Eddie standing in the middle of the room with his back towards me and a towel wrapped around his waist. I fight to rip my eyes away from his torso and I clear my throat. He turns towards me and I hold out the clothes.

"Here, I'll be downstairs when you're dressed." As soon as he takes the clothes I quickly head downstairs and to the kitchen.

My stomach growls loudly and I realize I hadn't eaten anything since yesterday. I look around the kitchen for something to eat and decide on making a sandwich. Eddie comes in as I'm finishing making my food. He says nothing but I feel his eyes on me as I put the ingredients away and then take a bite of the sandwich.

I look over at him "So do you only drink blood now or can you have regular food too?"

Eddie shrugs "I don't know, haven't tried regular food yet."

I pull out a knife and half the sandwich, handing out the side I hadn't bitten off of "Well perfect time to experiment."

He shakes his head "Eat your sandwich Steve, I can hear your stomach growling."

"Awe come on, just one little bite."

He rolls his eyes and walks over. I expect him to take the half out of my hand but he gently takes my wrist and brings the sandwich to his mouth, taking a small bite. He lets go of my wrist and his face scrunches up like he ate a lemon.

"That's the worst thing I've ever put in my mouth."

I laugh a little and watch him spit it out into the trash.

"Yeah you keep laughing Harrington, but remember who has the fangs."

I gasp dramatically and place a hand on my chest "Why Eddie Munson was that a threat I just heard? It's probably because of all that horrible music you listen to."

He gasps dramatically back at me "Steve Harrington I believe you wouldn't know good music if it smacked you in the face. I wouldn't say that the guy who listens to Madonna has good taste in music."

"Um for your information Madonna is amazing."

"Overrated if you ask me." He says crossing his arms.

"Well good thing no one asked you." I say and throw a kitchen towel at him.

He tosses it back at me and I go to throw it again but the doorbell rings. I sit the towel on the counter "This isn't over." I say as I walk by him and to the door.

I open the front door and Dustin comes in. "Okay good news is that I've already got a bag full for when Eddie's hungry, bad news is I think I'm never going to give blood ever again."

"Wimp, it's just a little needle."

"Does this look like a little needle to you Steve?" He asks holding up a thick packaged needle.

"Oh my god, that thing actually looks like a dagger."

"See? I told you."

I scratch the back of my head and sigh "Well we're just going to have to get over it."

"Pfft yeah like I'm gonna get over it." He says as he walks over to the fridge and puts the package into it.

"It's okay Henderson you can hold my hand if you're scared." I joke and Eddie laughs a little.

Dustin spins around and points a finger at Eddie "You don't get to make fun of me. Don't forget who's idea it was to feed you, and who's offering their blood."

Eddie holds up his hands in defense "Alright, alright. Don't lose your head Henderson."

Dustin's watch beeps and he curses as he looks down at it. "Sorry guys I gotta get back to my house before my mom wakes up or she'll freak out."

"Okay well don't get yourself in trouble otherwise you won't be able to come over and feed Eddie." I say.

"Oh no what a terrible shame that'd be." He says sarcastically before practically running out the door.
