"Tori." I hear my supervisor's voice call from his office.

"Yes sir?" I reply, standing from my desk and walking towards the room he's in.

"The big boss needs you. Head up to the thirty-second floor and her secretary should be there to direct you." His words cause my heart to beat rapidly in my chest.

I've never been up there.

"Uh... okay. Did she say why?" I can't help but ask.

He looks up from his computer for the first time, seeing my freaked out expression, and smiles reassuringly. "Don't sweat it. She just needs computer help. Your job, remember?" He jabs jokingly.

I scoff softly at my stupidity. "Duh. Sorry."

He shoos me out of his office, so I grab my own laptop along with a kit that holds a couple tools, not knowing what I'm supposed to be doing, if it's a technical problem or she just doesn't know what she's doing, or maybe something else.

I give a nervous smile to my coworker when I get on the elevator with them, but we remain in an awkward silence on the ride up. Part of me hoped we'd be going to the same place, but a quick look at the buttons tells me otherwise.

Fuckkkkkkkk I repeat over and over again in my head as they exit and no one else gets on. Despite my direct boss' words, I'm still freaking out. I've never seen the CEO outside of a photo. I've definitely never been called up to her office.

When I finally reach the floor, my hands are shaking, as well as my breathing. What if she said she needed my help but she's actually firing me?

Much to my dismay, the one desk on this floor before the big door is very much empty, but there is only one other place here, so I'm assuming that's where supposed to go.

With a deep breath, I approach the oak door and knock. "Not now, go away!" Comes a yell from the other side. I simply blink at the door, not knowing what to do. Maybe Garrett got it wrong? With that thought, I turn around and start walking back towards the elevator with a funny feeling in my stomach, like I might throw up. "Wait! Wait!" The door opens behind me. I turn around, seeing an absolutely gorgeous, albeit disheveled, woman in front of me. "I forgot I sent for someone from IT, sorry. Come on in."

I follow her into her office silently, overwhelmed by both her beauty and title, on top of being yelled at just moments ago.

"Go ahead and shut the door." I do as she says, standing awkwardly near it with my arms wrapped tightly around the laptop and bag against my chest. She turns around when she reaches the far side of her desk, scanning me for a moment before she meets my eyes again. "You got a problem, or are you going to get over here?" Most of the kindness previously in her tone is gone. For some reason I blush as I walk closer, but I chalk it up to being called out.

Somehow finding my voice, I ask, "What can I do for you, ma'am?"

Her eyes narrow and the corner of her lip quirks the tiniest bit. I look down at her desk to avoid eye contact. "Look at me." She demands. I release a breath when I meet her eyes for a millisecond, before I avoid her gaze again, fighting with myself. I'm horrible at eye contact. "What's your name? How long have you worked for me?"

"T-Tori- Victoria Eastman." I realize I probably shouldn't use my nickname with the CEO of the company that employs me. "Around three years I think?"

"Hm." She hums. "Well, is there any way you can get a file back that's been deleted?"

"I can try. How was it deleted?" I ask, grabbing a pair of glasses from my bag that I need for close-up things.

"I don't know." She says flatly, staring straight at me as I set my things on her chair.
