Crunchy chips side—————————
He had adapted well to the harsh cold of the Dark Cacao Kingdom; there was no doubt about it. The limited food supply and the countless, countless attacks that came either from the licorice sea or from Dark Enchantress cookies horde of monsters. He had adapted well. He also had no fear; which went two ways. But today was a day that he potentially would never forget. He was doing his normal training with the creme wolves, when Dark Cacao came to him. It wasn't unusual for him to do so, but he had been in what seemed in hiding... "Good evening, Crunchy Chip cookie." He began. "O-Oh! Good evening your majesty!" Crunchy Chip quickly bowed. "I have a rather big favour to ask you... I would've of asked Caramel Arrow for a job like this but-" that's what always got Crunchy Chip down. Dark Cacao would not even need to think twice to go to Caramel Arrow about a mission, it was like he was like a last resort... "Caramel Arrow is sick and is in need of aid. So instead, I have come to you." Crunchy Chip began to stroke one of the Creme wolves mane gently. "Yes your majesty? How may I come of service?" He asked. "Right- a meeting has been called to a place called the 'creme republic'. Though you have no experience out of the Dark Cacao kingdom other than Caramel Arrow; as I have said, she is sick, and will be little to no help. Do you think you are up for it? In fact, I'll give you time to think about this opportunity. Farewell." With that, Dark Cacao left. Caramel Arrow. If she wasn't so great, perhaps I would be able to go on the cool missions all the time, and not be a fill in for her, Crunchy Chip thought. It wasn't that he didn't like her; he didn't mind her, but thing that bugged him about her was her loyalty. Always doing the most for the king. Taking the spotlight. Taking the opportunities. But then an idea popped into Crunchy chips mind. I can use this as an opportunity to make her jealous. Perhaps I, the writer, might've been wrong. There was a little tension between the two, but it wasn't as bad as it was with Caramel Arrow and Affogato. Crunchy Chip had made his mind. He was going to assist this meeting with the king and make him proud. Make him want to take him out on more missions than Caramel Arrow.————————~~night~~

His shift, for now, had begun. Though, he had to tell the king he was more than happy to accept his opportunity to go with him to this so called creme republic. He couldn't leave his post, so that was the first problem. The second problem was, no one was allowed into the citadel after dark. So, he wrote a note.Dear your majesty, I'd be more than honoured to assist on the mission to the creme republic.

Then, he got someone who was passing by to give the note to one of the guards, who would pass on the note to the king. "That should do it." Crunchy Chip smiled to himself, then continued to guard his post. Of course, on most of the times he's on duty, nothing exciting happens. Maybe a stray cake hound would take a stroll across the perimeter, or a small horde of monsters would come his way. They would be taken care of quickly. As always. "Crunchy Chip Cookie! The king would like to see you." A fellow snow cleaner called to him. For no reason whatsoever, a wave of anxiety washed over the cookie. It was all so sudden, he wasn't exactly familiar to this feeling. Whenever he was called to see the king he would feel it. It was the feeling that, perhaps, he would suddenly banish him for daydreaming on his shift, taking a little more of the rations undetected. "Yes, thank you. I will make my way now." He anxiously made his way to the citadel. Why do I always feel this wave of... worry? He thought to himself. I am not weak. I shouldn't be feeling this. I know better- "Crunchy Chip Cookie." Crunchy Chip quickly snapped out of his thoughts to the booming voice of Dark Cacao. "Your majesty." "I have gotten your little note. Yes, I thank you for accepting, we will be leaving early in the morning. So I advise you get some sleep. You can head to one the chambers." Crunchy Chip merely nodded, and made his way. "This is a very important mission," he said to himself quietly. "I mustn't miss it up. If I do then my majesty will never take me seriously." A door opened. Out came no other than Caramel Arrow cookie. "Look who finally got a mission." She chuckled. Crunchy Chip could feel his cheeks heat up with anger. "Would you shut it? Yes, I, for once- got a mission! And you didn't-" "And why is that, Crunchy Chip? Care to remind yourself why I am not able to?" Right. She was sick. It had been said many times, though Crunchy Chip tried his best to think of another reason why. "Because your sick. In fact, take your time. Take your time to heal and get to your good old self, yeah? It wouldn't do anyone any harm." Caramel Arrow was taken aback slightly, but shook it off. Instead, she gripped at the side of her robe to restrain her anger. "At least I am not a last resort, Crunchy Chip. Take your time. Soak up your short lived glory; because I don't take long to heal. I always get back up again. In fact, if you fail, I'll be sent to the creme republic to replace you. And let me tell you: fail, and you'll never, never come back. So make good decisions." And with that, Caramel Arrow slammed the door behind her. That fucking slag, thought Crunchy Chip. But what if she's right? What if I fail and I don't come back for true? There it was again. That wave of anxiety. Except, it wasn't because it was because he was called to the king, he was afraid of failing.
