Kotori walked away from the campsite to collect branches on the ground until her arms were full. She lifted up her head and stared at the moon in the sky.
I really miss looking at the stars with my mother
It was a strong breeze the wind caused the leaves to flare up in her face. For a second, she could have sworn that she saw something flying in the sky with a purple crescent that stood out in the moonlight but when she rubbed her eyes it disappeared and thought that it was her imagination then she was truly able to admire the moon.
How beautiful...
"......"
A thin layer of clouds masked the full moon, filling the room with blue light.
" Do you think that Ko is okay in the Forrest all alone?" Shippo questioned worriedly.
" She will be fine, quit your yapping." InuYasha closed his eyes with his hands resting behind his head against the tree." She can handle herself."
" Well, Shippo does have a point Ko is a young woman and it would be troubling if a men approached her in the middle on the night.
<< The only person she needs to worry about is you>> everyone thought.
Sweat dripped from the monk's forehead and had a feeling that his comrades were thinking ill of him as he let out a soft chuckled.
" InuYasha, I told you that you should've gone with her it's more dangerous at night and as much as I hate to admit it but Miroku is right."
" Ko will be fine because she's...." the half-demon was interrupted by the demon slayer.
" A strong human woman," Sango said. "she is not a demon like you and neither are we.
" Which means?" the half-demon raised his eye brown..
" Inuyasha, you are so selfish! You don't think about anyone besides yourself." Kagome says angrily with the fist balled up.
" Wait... Kagome---don't" Inuyasha pleaded.
" SIT BOY!" She commanded.
The beans around his neck glowed then his face planted in the dirt. Why me? I did not do anything this time!
Kotori returned to the campsite," Uh.... What happened while I was away?" She asked in confusion
" Ko, no human tried to take advantage of you and the demons didn't try to devour you," Shippo asked.
" No, it was quite peaceful this evening," Kotori answered casually.
" What took you so long?" the demon slayer asked." We were worried about you."
" I don't know why, I can take care of myself I'm not like a weak human," Kotori said and put the branches down in the circle created by the stones.
" I told you.!" InuYasha complained with his face still implanted into the ground.
" Are you not scared, lady Ko?"
Scared? Why would I be scared...
" Not really. Perhaps when I was a young kid when I was alone and after my mother." She stopped in her tracks and realized that she painted an image of this helpless young human woman whose parents recently died from a demon. At that moment, she looked down and played with her foot in the dirt.
" InuYasha, see. Why are you asking Ko personal questions? Can't you see that it's affecting her dummy?"Shippo pointed out and stuck his tongue out at the half-demon.
Kotori lifted up her head and her eyes met with InuYasha. The wind began to pick up back and it blew her hair blew to the side, there were a thousand thoughts running through her head, and the fact that she shared her identity with him terrified her.
What in the world is he thinking right now? I wish I knew.
" I'm going to bed." InuYasha turned to his side and face the direction of the tree.
She stares that the flames in the fireplace and looked around as she notice that everyone was fast asleep while hugging her knees and her eyes softened, thinking about the unfortunate events in her past.
That was a close one! I need to be more careful
