Billy was late to school because his alarm hadn't gone off, and Max was already gone by the time he came downstairs.

He had no idea where she was but assumed she just went to skate to school. He grabbed a banana from the counter and quickly went to his car.

He got in and drove away, blasting music loudly.

When Billy got to school, he was already late so he decided to just skip first period.

While he exited his car, he saw Cassie coming out of the school, flipping someone behind her off.

He kept looking, wanting to know what was going on. Seconds after Cassie emerged, a boy burst through the double doors.

His mouth was moving at a rapid pace, but Billy couldn't hear much of his rant because of the distance in between them.

Cassie, however, seemed pretty pissed off at what the boy was saying and shouted a bunch of expletives at him.

Billy could only hear something along the lines of: "...so please just go fuck yourself you lying son of a bitch!", the rest being carried away by the wind.

He was now very interested at what was going on, so he walked over to Cassie and the boy.

The boy was now stammering apologies and Cassie was mocking him, not seeing Billy.

Only when she turned around her eyes fell upon him, narrowing with anger. "Didn't your mom ever tell you that it's rude to eavesdrop Hargrove?" She hissed.

Billy's jaw clenched at the mention of his mother. "I wasn't eavesdropping." He said, cringing at how obvious it was that he was lying.

Cassie rolled her eyes. "Sure you weren't. What do you want Cali?" She asked.

Billy shook his head. "I just wanted to go inside. Chill out hottie." He said.

Cassie tilted her head slightly. "What'd you just call me?" She asked, adrenaline of the argument with the boy still rushing through her veins.

Billy laughed. "Can't take a compliment?" He asked with a grin.

Cassie sneered at him. "I don't take compliments from pricks." She hissed, correcting him.

Billy scoffed. "Don't act like you aren't a whore for anyone that gives you compliments." He said.

Cassie slapped him hard. "Take that back right now." She said threatening.

Billy chuckled. "Whether I take it back or not, it's still the truth." He said.

Cassie punched him again, his nose started to bleed. "I am not a whore. Take. It. Back." She said through gritted teeth.

When Billy didn't say anything, Cassie was about to punch him again when someone grabbed her arm. "Cassie no!" The person said.

Cassie turned around, meeting Tommy's eyes. "Tommy, let go." She said in a calm tone.

He shook his head. "No. You know I promised Steve I'd always take care of you. That we aren't that tight anymore is because of that girl Nancy, and I know you don't like her either. Just calm down for me, okay?" He said.
