Darkness, my eyes were open but the large fabric shades were drawn, causing the cool darkness to greet me when I awoke. I was comfortable, wrapped up with another body entwined with mine. Once I processed that, I was indeed entangled with another person, my eyes squinted as if it would help me see in the dark.

"Master Hoseok?" I asked into the darkness. The movement was so smooth and all I felt was air flowing around me, and that body which held me in such a hold that I had no words for it.... suddenly disappeared.

"My deepest apologies, sweet Nightingale. I don't rest much, but you were a welcomed warmth in my bed." He spoke softly. "I didn't hurt you, did I?" He was concerned.

"Not at all, Master Hoseok. I was.. quite comfortable actually." I wanted to assure him that I didn't feel strange about it... he felt nice, enveloping me the way he had. I couldn't put words on it exactly but it felt really.... good. Like it was right.

"It's mid morning, shall I get Brigsby to bring you something to eat, or would you like to go on your own?" Hoseok questioned.

"I think I'll go clean up... um.. do you think it's okay to go back to my room?" I asked him, worried I wouldn't be able to get some fresh clothes and use the bathroom to clean myself up.

"I'll check for you, come on sweet bird." He held his hand out to me and I placed my hand in his and he gently gripped my hand, pulling me carefully along with him.
My bare feet pitter pattered along the floors as he led me down the hall and over to the other side of the manor. Once we got to my room, Hoseok had me stay outside as he opened my bedroom door and stepped in.
"It's all clear, little bird. Seems the others fixed it up quickly." He smiled at me and held out his hand. I placed my hand in his as he pulled me forward and let me inside the room.

Everything was cleaned up, no more broken window, no more shattered glass, my curtains were no longer torn as well. Another thing I noticed was the tree outside my window was no longer there.
"I'll just get something to wear." I said as I left Hoseok standing there while I hurried over to my dresser and got some clean clothing. I took a long sundress off its hanger in the large wardrobe and tucked my undergarments under it as I made my way into the shower.

"I'll stay out here, make sure you're alright while you shower and dress." He said softly as he sat on the edge of my cleaned up and neatly made bed. I shut the door of the bathroom behind me and set my things down on the counter as I prepared myself to shower.
I cleaned myself, thinking of what had happened and how scared I was. Was this how things were going to go for me from now on? I didn't want to be caged like this.. but last night proved that it truly can get dangerous for me. I didn't know when it would be okay, after my next birthday? Would it really be okay though? Wouldn't they try to come after me more once I try to put the vail back up? So many questions ran through my mind as I finished washing, drying and dressing alone.
Once I finished, I exited the bathroom. My hair was still a little damp but I brushed through my hair slowly.
"Want some help with that, little bird?" Hoseok asked as he scooted back on my bed. I nodded and sat between his legs. He inhaled and slowly exhaled as he took the brush from me and began to brush my hair.

"Thank you." I softly said to him, enjoying the feeling of him brushing my hair.

"It's no problem at all, sweet bird." He replied. He slowly and gently slid the brush through my hair. "I think Yoongi is heading to town with Namjoon today, is there anything you'd like or need?" He asked me.

"Um... I don't think so." I replied.

"Nothing at all? A new dress? Maybe some new books?" He asked.

"Hmm... books would be nice." I replied after thinking about it for a moment. As much as I liked the books here, and there was plenty to read... I could always find use for new books.

"Alright then, I'll let Namjoon and Yoongi know." I could hear the smile in his voice as he continued to brush my hair.

By lunch time, everyone had gone and I was left with Brigsby again. I stayed inside, not wanting to tempt those creatures into coming after me again. Instead I decided to find all I could about my people and this vail that was so important.
The library in the manor was decent sized, plenty of books to read if I ever wanted- but right now I was focused on books that held the answers I was looking for.

"Need some help?" Brigsby asked as he entered the library.

"I could certainly use some." I said, looking around. "There's a lot of books to sort through."

"Well, what are you looking for dear?" Brigby asked.

"Anything about... my people and this vail thing." I replied to him. He nodded and joined me in looking around. We searched the library for what felt like hours. Any books containing even the slightest bit of information on my people or the vail was set aside.
There were around seventy books that had something mentioning either or both in them when we were done.

"I'm going to get us a snack and some tea, I think we deserve that much." Brigsby smiled as he left the room to get refreshments for us. I started to put the books on top of the circular table setting in the room.
