~Marco's POV~
"Have you seen the new girl?" Noah asked from beside me.
I shook my head.
No, I have not.
"They say she's..." he paused, "a badass."
I scoffed and asked, "Where is she?" My curiosity and amusement got the better of me.
He pointed his finger straight ahead of himself.
I looked over and saw her. She had chestnut brown hair that went all the way down to below her waist and her skin was fair. She was walking with utter confidence wearing black jeans and black strappy high heels. She was wearing a dusty pink jacket with a white shirt that was low cut with lace. As if feeling eyes on her, she turned her head to face Noah and me.
Her face was devoid of emotion. Her eyes were hazel and her bow-shaped pink lips were perfectly plump with a hint of sparkly gloss.
She caught my eyes and I smirked at her. She just rolled her eyes and looked back in front of her as she continued walking.
"Damn," I whispered under my breath.
"I know right," Kai said, walking up to us.
"She's in my math class," Noah interjected.
"Oh, a smart girl to be in your math class. She's in my first-period class! When the teacher introduced her and asked her to tell the class about herself, she said, 'No, thank you'."
"For real?" Noah asked, pushing off from against the wall.
"For real. When I tried coming up to talk to her after class ended, before I even got a chance to speak, she said, 'Don't even'. Then she walked out of the room without even so much as glancing at me," Kai complained.
I let out a small laugh.
"It's not funny, Marco," Kai stated. Now Noah started laughing too.
"A badass?" I asked, quoting Noah and turning to face him. "What have you heard?"
"So many things. Not that half of them are probably true. I heard she got expelled from her old school for burning it down. I heard that she has a 4.0 GPA. I heard that her dad is the CEO of Amazon worldwide consumer stuff. I heard that she can speak four languages. I heard she..." Noah trailed off. I saw he was staring at something and I followed his gaze.
"Hey, babe," Jason flirted. He was walking next to the new girl. I felt my jaw clench.
The new girl just kept walking as if she hadn't heard him. Then he quickly maneuvered himself so that he stood in front of her making it so that she had to stop unless she wanted to collide with him. She did in fact stop. She sighed, then put on the sweetest, most innocent, smile I'd ever seen. She looked up at Jason through her long black eyelashes.
"Please move," she asked sweetly, a little too sweetly.
"What's your name, babe?" he asked, ignoring her command.
She tried to step to the side and move away from him. He just stepped to the side too, blocking her again.
The smile of innocence was still plastered on her face, and, if I wasn't mistaken, she actually looked like she was enjoying herself. She tilted her head to the right side a little, looking back up at him.
"If I tell you, will you stop calling me 'babe' and let me go?" she asked, actually stepping closer to him.
She didn't know him and what he did to girls. But I did. I tried to step forward ready to come to her aid when Noah grabbed my arm holding me back. I turned my head to face him and was about to ask him to let go, but then I saw he was smiling and shook his head. Shocked by his reaction, I stayed put and turned my attention back to the scene everyone in the quad was watching now.
"What's the rush, babe?" he asked mockingly.
"I have class in five minutes. You have class in five minutes. Wouldn't want to be late," she replied.
"A lot can happen in five minutes," he said, the implication clear as he looked at her with fire in his eyes.
"Oh, I bet. Now, please move. Or I will make you move," she threatened, voice still laced with honey.
He laughed and said, "I'd like to see you try."
"As you wish," she said, the sweet smile shifting into a devilish smirk.
In a blink of the eye, her right foot moved and hooked behind his left knee and pulled forward with force as she spun a full, flawless 360. His knee buckled forward causing his whole body to fall onto his back.
Everyone watching was stunned into silence. I was stunned into silence.
"Ow!" Jason moaned from the floor.
The new girl, who was standing above him looking down at him, had a devious half-smile, eyes sparkling like the stars. I caught sight of the necklace that was hanging off her neck. It was a solid silver chain with a small shiny pink heart pendant that matched her jacket perfectly.
Jason tried to move, but the girl put her left foot into his stomach, stopping him.
"It's Violet," she said, still smiling. "See you around, babe."
Then the bell rang as if on cue. And with that, she took her perfectly polished, white painted toes, high-heeled foot off him. With a hair flip, she was off. She continued walking to whatever class she was headed to while everyone who just witnessed that... that... whatever the hell that was just stood there watching her back as she walked.
"Damn," I repeated under my breath.
"I know," Kai and Noah said at the same time.
