Author's note and Informations

Hello everyone ! 

4/11/22 Small addition : There are pictures at the end of the story with information about the characters, do not forget to read my little note at the beginning. 

Welcome to my first really structured story, I'm so happy to share it with you ! I'd like to say a few words before I start and I promise you won't see me too much after.

First of all I'm going to publish the first 16 chapters today and I'll publish at least 1 chapter per week. Also I have corrected most of the mistakes I saw but I will probably republish a cleaner version. English is not my first language so please forgive the syntax errors :)

As I said in the summary the story is in two parts, the first part is not very traumatic but the second part can shock some people.  Also, I think it is possible to stop at the end of the first part, it can be a potential final end even if I wrote a "sequel" where we develop some points stated in the first part.

Information to understand better the world of the story (this is not corrected)  

Timeline : around  year 2150 

Humans have evolved following an epidemic of diseases and genetic disorders. They have survived thanks to the Dolce, but they still have some after-effects, such as a high infant mortality rate and a low fertility rate. 

Social classes :

Nobles/Dolce : Descendants of the first immunized people who saved humanity, which gave them many privileges. They are now at the top of the social classes. The Dolces are among the nobles whose lineage is the "purest", they can be recognized by their blue eyes and red hair.The Dolce represent 5% of the population, their number is decreasing more and more because their fertility rate is low but also an unknown change probably linked to their alleles. It is a very conservative social class. The Nobles and Dolces work a lot with scientists to study their DNA and find cures etc.

Rich : They run businesses and are part of the government, their status is often due to their ancestry or because they are cousins of the nobles. They manage the economic situation of the country under the watchful eye of the nobles. They represent 25% of the population.

Military/Mercenaries/Accountants/Scientists : They are part of a rather well-to-do social class but are completely dependent on the rich nobles and Dolce.They represent 14% of the population.

Merchants, maids : Modest social class obeying the rules to survive. If they are in the service of the rich, they are granted advantages. They represent 35% of the population.

Prostitutes/hostess/mother bearer : At the bottom of the social ladder, they are forced to sell themselves to survive, they are at the service of all classes above them.They represent 20% of the population.

Doume : The Doume are the descendants of the 0 subjects, they are blamed for having propagated the genetic disaster and diseases that contaminated the world. Nowadays, their DNA is the least modified, they are very weak and rarely survive beyond 20 years. They can be recognized by their black eyes and hair of the same color. They represent less than 1% of the population.
