Chap 8

Keith was eating in the large dining room with all the other butlers, he had met Eloise, a young brunette woman with brown eyes. Her eyes reminded Keith of a deer's eyes, so round and full of life.

"Hmm it's a fucking delight ! I would give anything to have a meal like this every day." Eloise said with a huge piece of chocolate bread in her mouth and her coffee cup in her hand.

"Keith, are you working outside again today ? Because I'm affiliated with trimming the bushes, we could meet up."

Keith actually had no idea where he was today, as he had not received his schedule for the day. He had immediately informed his managers and they had simply told him to return to them once his lunch was over. He was terrified that this was a consequence of his meeting with the prince yesterday.

"I don't know where I am today, I didn't get my schedule." Keith said worriedly before taking a sip of his tea.

Eloise gave him a questioning look, and took the time to swallow the rest of her lunch before asking him.

"Damn, that's strange. Are you sure you didn't just lose it in your room ?"

Keith didn't have time to answer when the bell signaled the end of their lunch hour. The entire dining hall rose to their feet to dump their debris respectively before heading to their work section for the day. Keith, not knowing where to go, stood by the main door and waited for everyone to leave before heading to the master butler who was standing in front of him and yelling at the latecomers. Keith was reluctant to ask for answers about his schedule. He couldn't be fired under any circumstances, he really needed the money, for his sister and for their future.

When the last of the tardy ones had left, the master of the servants turned to Keith with his usual firm face. Keith understood that it was his turn to speak.  

"Sir, I was told to come see you about my schedule, I didn't get it this morning."

The butler looked him up and down. Keith found this habit extremely unpleasant, he could just say things instead of giving him scornful looks every time he saw him.

"Keith Sayyid. Come with me please."

Keith heart was racing, he couldn't help but wonder what would happen to him.
