Chapter 41

"I am not gonna spend my time on formalities, so I'll tell you directly that I know what you did." Hoseok said as soon as he entered house of his mother. The woman nearly dropped the tray with tea that she had in hand at that very moment.

"What are you talking about?" She managed to put hot beverage on a table in her living room as a frown made its way on her still beautiful face. Her long black hair was tied up in messy bun while she wore black silk robe in which she looked like a mistress that murdered her rich husband: very elegant and malicious at the same time.

"Drop this, I know that I ended up in a hospital because of you!"

"What?" The woman looked like she couldn't believe what she just heard. She was surprised by Hoseok's words to no extent. "What kind of nonsense are you saying? I was so worried about you! How is any of this my fault? What made you think that your own mother tried to get you killed?"

"What made me think such thing?" Hoseok snorted in disbelief, barely holding his anger. Hypocrisy of that woman was incomparable. "I don't know... Hmmm, maybe because you literally threatened to ruin Jimin's career and life in general, if he ever returned back to me?"

"And he still came back?" She asked shocked, slightly puzzling her son.

Okay, what the fuck is going on here? She didn't know that we made up with Jimin? Something isn't adding up here...

"Why are you acting like you didn't know?"

"I thought he was smart enough to leave you alone after our talk. It looks like I overestimated his intelligence." Mrs. Jung sat at the leather armchair, disbelief written all over her face.

"You say something bad about him one more time and I-"

"Do you know that you're defending the guy with whom Yoongi is cheating on you? And you? How can you do the same thing with same guy? It's disgusting!" The woman exclaimed thinking her son had no idea his fiance was cheating on him with his lover.

"First of all, we aren't cheating on each other. Three of us were in consensual relationship when your spy got those pictures. I don't expect you to understand it. I don't need your understanding. I just want you leave me, Yoongi and Jimin alone. If you ever dare to do anything to sabotage my boyfriend's career again, I'll tell the whole world what kind of mother you are in reality."

"Wait a second." The female stood up, putting her arms akimbo on hips and furrowing her brows. "I didn't sabotage Jimin's career. I would never do anything that would put your life in danger! You are my only child, Hoseok! No matter what kind of monster you believe I am, I would never harm the boy that I gave birth to."

Hoseok heart skipped a beat at her words. Why did he want it to be true so badly?

"How can I believe you after everything?" He asked in whisper with glassy eyes.

"Because you are my son. I would never in my life hurt you."

Hoseok didn't expect to hear that when he was heading at his mother's house. She never cared before, why would she start now? The model had many questions, but he wasn't sure if he wanted to know all answers. Wasn't it easier to believe that his mother was a villain in his life story, than an actual person with feelings and her own morals?

"It really was not you? Please say the truth because if I find out that you lied, you will never see me again." He said with wary voice. He actually meant it. The male was fed up with his mother's lies. If this was one of them, he would give up on her forever.

"I don't have anything to do with this." She said calmly. "Look, I never was the best mother, but-"

"No need for buts, mom. I know that even today, the only reason why you accept my relationship with Yoongi is because a) everyone does and b) he's hella rich." Hoseok said with pained expression, burning holes in his mother's head. "You never tried to understand me. You lived with narrowed view of life not caring for your son's feelings. But you know who did? My dad!"
