Chapter 3: The Truth

Natsu P.O.V

Finally it was over!

I rubbed the bruises on my arms. Erza sure doesn't hold back.
I walked out the hall with the others.

How long have we been training for?

The sun was already setting. Its bright colours looked like flames.

"Doesn't it look delicious!" I said looking at the sky.

"Wierdo!", Gray guffawed.

"What did you call me ice brai-" I felt my body being lifted off from the ground.

I turned to look at Gray, he shared the same fear in his face. Erza had us by our shirt colars. She smashed our foreheads together.
Little Happies flew around my head shouting "Aye."

"I thought I told you boys not to argu... Lucy?" Erza dropped us and ran to Lucy. She was holding her head and her eyes were squeezed shut.

Lucy P.O.V
(Sorry for the short P.O.V ;P)

"Aaaaah!!!!" I could hear my screams, I could feel the unbearable pain... but I couldn't hear or see what was going on around me. I felt someones hand on my arm, but as they touched me the pain got worse. Then... the pain stopped... I opened my eyes. Surrounding me were many screens. They seemed to play back memories of my childhood.

Memories of my old friends, playing with me in the woods near my house. Memories, of going shopping in the towns markets. Memories, of playing with the cooks in the kitchen. But the memories that touched my heart the most, was my mother. I sat down and watched them play back, of her picking flowers with me in the meadows. And singing to me before I went to sleep.

Tears ran down my cheeks and I smiled. The life I spent with my mother, was the life I always wanted to live. Her beautiful ways made my life a happy one, and I missed her more than anything. I reached out my hand, to touch her face. Then suddenly... everything went dark. I stayed stunned for a while.

Another screen appeared in front of me. My mother was on her knees crying. She had multiple bruises on her body. Her suroundings looked like she was in a rocky cave.

Someone in a dark cloack came into view. Him or hers back was facing towards me, so I couldn't see its face. He/she pulled out a gun and pointed it at my mothers head. Her face turned into fear and pain. "Now die, Layla Heartfillia!"

The horrible, haunting sound of a gun shot echoed around me. I screamed and the screen disappeared.
What did I just witness? That wasn't my memorie?

I heard my name being called faintly. The voice grew louder and louder.

"Lucy!" My surroundings turned blury, and I felt drouzy.

"Lucy! Please!" Is that... Natsu? Is he... crying?

"Luce! Lucy! Lucy!!!!"

"Nat...su..." For a second everything was quite...

Gray P.O.V *while Lucy was unconscious*

I ran as fast as I could through the fair grounds. Trying to dodge people and objects was difficult, because so many thoughts flooded into my mind. The image of seeing Natsu crying was just... unbelievable! Why was he crying? He's never cried over someone like that... well not around me.

*a few minutes earlier*

I watched helplessly as Natsu held the unconscious Lucy upright, and screaming her name. Him and Erza were despratly trying to wake her up, but I just starred at the tears running down her lifeless face. I finally snapped back when Erza shouted my name. I looked around to see people gather around us.

"Gray!!!! For the 100th time!!! Wake up idiot!" Erza hit me across the head.

I rubbed at the pain, "Erza I'm sorry I...-"

"I'm sorry Erza nothing! I need you to go find a Healing magic stall, ask for the re-concious potion, its blue. And hurry before we loose Lucy!"

I didn't hesitate.

*present*

I hadn't realized I had zoned out. When I came back to reality I lost my balance and ran into an old lady.

"Oh my... I'm so sorry ma'am, please let me help you." I helped her get to her feet. The old lady laughed and dusted herself off.

"Oh its quit alright young man." She smiled. And that's when I noticed the Healing Guild mark on her shoulder.

"Um... you don't happen to know where I can find a Healing magic stall anywhere?" I said rubbing my head.

"Well yes, in fact you are right here, this is my stall." She chuckled.

I rushed over to the counter and waited impationtly for her to come around the corner.

"Well what can I do for you?"

I looked around the small stall and found the blue potion Erza had mentioned.

"Yeah I will take the re-concious potion." I said handing her a few gold coins.

She sighed, "I'm sorry son, but I don't have any."

I look at her with a withering gaze, " look lady I don't have time for this! I'm not stupid I can clearly see it on the shelf."

"That's saved for someone, I'm sorry." I was getting impationt.

"Sorry or not I'm taking that potion!" I jumped over the counter, grabbed the potion and ran, ignoring the old lady's cursing.

When I finally got back I gave the potion to Erza.

"What took you so long!" Natsu shouted at me.

"Well I'm so sorry old people hate me Natsu!"

Natsu got up and I could see the anger in his eyes. His clenched fists lit up with flames.

"Gray stop it! Natsu, I need you to boil the potion." He obayed. He held out his palm full of fire, and Erza held the bottle above the flames.

Natsu P.O.V

I watched as the blue potion bubbled. So many thoughts rushed around my head.

What's going to happen to Lucy?

What did happen to her!?

"Okay Natsu, keep her head up so she doesn't choke. I'm going to pour this down her throught." Erza said. I nodded and did what she said.

The blue substance ran down her throught. We waited in suspence for what seemed a long time... then suddenly her eye lids flew open and she gasped for air.

"Na....Natsu? Erza?.... Gray?...." She looked up at me with tired eyes.

I hugged her tightly, she hesitated but wrapped her arms weakly around me.

"About time you woke up." Gray said patting her head gently, "Natsu here was getting worked up."

I felt my cheeks turn hot, "Shut up Ice brain..."

Lucy P.O.V

My head still kind of hurt, but I was glad I woke up. Seeing everyone's face made me a little calm. But... as Natsu helped me stand up I realized... I finally knew... how my mother died...

I know P.O.V's were flying every where in this chapter! Hahaha but the 4th chapter will be published soon ;)
