*LYDIA*

To lose a really loved one is a very painful loss. It's like cutting off a bird's wings and making it fly...

I didn't think much about my parents' suggestion to leave. Maybe my mom was right that I need a break. Holidays are slowly ending and we haven't traveled anywhere yet, so they decided we could do it now. Before leaving, I took a quick shower, changed and combed my hair. I didn't feel like makeup, so today I was without makeup. I haven't had a chance to say goodbye to Stiles. Honestly, I didn't even want him to know about leaving. Maybe he'll be better off without me... But will I be better off without him? I could barely bear the separation of several days, and what to speak of months or even years if we decide to move.

"Lydia! " Dad called from downstairs. "Come down, let's go! "

"I'm coming! " I shouted back.

I took my suitcase and went downstairs. As for bad, it started to rain, and it was getting stronger with each passing moment.

"Maybe we'll wait out the storm after all?" Mom suggested. "We might as well go tomorrow. "

"No. " I replied. "It might rain tomorrow as well, and besides, the plane ticket is for today. "

"Shell we... "

"Yes. " I interrupted her. "But we don't have to. " I added and went outside to put the suitcase in the trunk.

As soon as I went outside, I felt the cold drops rain down on me, one by one. Dad came over and said he would take care of the suitcase and I was to go to my mom.

"Lydia. " Woman called to me.

"Something happened? " I asked walking up to her.

"No. But... Honey, are you sure? "

I lowered my head down. I didn't know what to think about it. I knew that when we left, there would be no turning back.

"Why don't you give him a call? " She asked.

"No..." I replied.

"Why? "

After a long moment, I replied:

"Because he probably wouldn't have picked up anyway... " I rubbed my eyes to hide the tears.

"So let me ask you again. " Woman came closer. "Are you sure? "

"Yes. " I lied.

But I wasn't really.

"Ready? " Dad asked entering the house. "Did you take everything?"

"Yes. " Mom answered him. "We can go. " She glanced at me and walked towards the exit, and I was right behind her.

The rain seemed to fall even harder than before, and a chill wind blew my hair. Before getting into the car, I hesitated. I looked back at our house. It's true that we were only supposed to go on vacation, but I wasn't entirely sure if I would come back here anytime. In the morning I said goodbye to Allison and Scott, they both hope to come back, but I wasn't sure myself. Stiles... I'll miss him very much.

I opened the car door when suddenly I heard someone scream. Someone was calling me, and when I turned to the side he came from, I couldn't believe my eyes.

"Lydia! " Stiles shouted, running towards me. "Wait! "

He was still far enough away. I couldn't believe he came. Well, I could've figured Scott would tell him. He ignored the rain, just ran straight to me. At the sight of him, I felt tears welling up in my eyes. Nor did I believe what I was going to do. I acted as if he wasn't there at all and got into the car. Now I didn't know what to do anymore. My heart screamed "stop" and my mind told me to go on.
