Admist the extremely bad timing, Tara's mind was screaming every bad possible thing that could happen if she sticks out her left hand.
Abruptly, she kept something poking at her back, Tara winced looking back to find her mother glaring at her. Tara pouted but nothing worked.
Turning back again, she looked up through hooded eyes at the groom, his spectacles were bigger than his face, his hair combed neatly with oil- who knows how many litres of coconut oil and an imbecile grin on his face since that he could finally own Tara's share of Venkatesh's properties.
Tara shut her eyes momentarily, taking a sharp intake - she knew that this was an horrible decision. She should just slap him off and run away from the whole place as an act of standing up for herself.
But she couldn't help but think about what could happen afterwards. Her relatives would humiliate her parents until they regret accepting her at the first place.
She snapped her eyes open when she heard murmurs echoing the place. With no other choice to take, Tara extended her trembling hands for him to slid the ring into her finger.
Thus, Tara was engaged.
✨
What!
Harish exclaimed in shock to what he just heard whereas Tara could just glower at him with a deadpan face.

The beach waves touching their feet and the wind rustling their hair.
