Rain

Rain

What a pleasant surprise from the sky. No one can ever hate rain.

Unless you live in a city where anything hardly moves or works in rain.

Tara groans at the screen of her mobile, this was the fourth cab driver cancelling her ride.

Pragi has gone to visit her parents this weekend leaving Tara to commute by cab to work. Until this rain came to ruin everything.

Especially when she had extra work and had to leave late than usual.

Tara keeps on tapping, trying her luck to get a cab as she walks back and fro in the lobby of her office.

Suddenly, she receives a call. Her continous tapping on the screen ends up making her attend it without being cautious of the caller ID,

Hello?

Vikram is taken aback by Tara's sudden irritated tone of voice. He wonders what he did and reluctantly answers,

He-hello? Tara?

Tara jolts the screen from her ear and sees the caller ID. She smacks her own forehead,

Vikram, neengala? I'm so sorry, na yedho nyabagathula caller ID pakkama answer panniten

Appo patrundha answer pannirukae mattae? Illa?

He mocked,

Apdhinu illa, adhu-

Seri adha vidu. Ippo nee yenga irukae?

Tara sighs wearily,

Na innum veetuku pogala. Office'la dhan irukken. Malaila cab'eh kedaikamatudhu

She sounded so sad and pity that it melted Vikram's heart, he smiled heartily before sighing

Nalla vela

Yen?!

Nee cab'la poirundha, appo unakaga veliya car'la malaila nikirae na yenga poradhu?

By the silence from the other end, Vikram could tell that she couldn't understand him. He chuckles by the mere thought of how adorable her perplexed face would be right now.

Na veliya dhan irukken, va

The moment she saw him smile at her, leaning against his parked car with his ankles crossed and hands folded, Tara was beyond flabbergasted.

She had her hands above her head to shield herself as she ran to the bus stop where he stood,

Neenga inga yenna panringa?

Tara asks panting, Vikram takes out the water bottle from inside his car and hands it to her,

Na yepdhiyo indha route'la dhan poven. Adhan vandhen.
