"Come on, come on, come on,"  Regina mumbled as she glared at the small paper clip. She had moved it slightly before and now she's trying to get it to float. . . Non-verbally and without a wand.

It's been a week since she's been locked in the room. As promised, she was given food for both herself and Cosmo but there isn't even a window to get some fresh air with. There's a bathroom, thankfully, and she has the books that she somehow brought with her to keep her entertained. Kreacher gives her company sometimes when he knows everyone is asleep, which she appreciates.

"Missus must never be lonely. Kreacher be there for missus. Mistress says Dumbleydore is a stupid wizard with no more brain than a toad."

His voice rasped out one night. Regina laughed and agreed with him as he taught her how to play wizards chess.

More and more days went by. Finally, on August 31st, Kreacher popped in the room looking panicked. "What's wrong, Kreacher?"

His wide eyes and wobbly ears shook. "I heard them talk about leaving. Theys going to take you to Hogwarts and hide you so Dumbledore can make you tell him stuffs like now." His little feet pattered on the hardwood floor as he paced, desperately grabbing his ears and pulling them down, covering his face.

"It'll be okay, Kreacher. I refuse to tell them anything."

"That is the problem Missus Regina. Theys make you tell them. Bad stuffs in the books show them how." He pointed to the bookshelf littered with books about the Dark Arts. "Torture?"

The elf's head bobbed up and down and a pit of dread opened in her stomach. "I can't tell them. If I do it would make everything even worse." Kreacher stilled at this and shook his head in disappointment. "Kreacher is sorry, Master Regulus."

He popped away.

Moments later he came back looking crestfallen and defeated. "Dumbledore's much worse than Master's Lord. Master betrayed his Lord and told me to break something, but Kreacher can't. Kreacher believe's that this will protect you." He held up a golden locket. Her jaw dropped. "Is that a horcrux?"

The little being flinched away from the word and nodded. "Kreacher tried to break it but I's grateful that I failed. Maybe yous be okay and come back to Kreacher someday."

Regina's heart broke at the loneliness and hope in his voice. "Take care of yourself, Kreacher. Even though I may not be here for now, when I come back I want you as healthy as can be."
