"When death comes too soon or is untimely, you call it a mors immatura. However, it isn't just deaths happening at a young age, it's also for those that depart before they've reached their full potential in life."
"Just get out! Go away for fuck sake. No one is begging your useless ass to stay." Regina had shouted at her father. His stained clothes were glaringly obvious in the neatly cleaned living room. Grease covered his fingers and his hair wrapped into a matted bun on the crown of his head. He pointed a dirty finger between her brows and stepped closer, forcing himself into her personal space.
Not even the smell of the homemade apple pie could comfort her as his usual odor of gasoline and sweat protrudes into her senses.
"I pay the bills, bitch. If you don't like it. . . then you leave. I'm not your father and I never gave a damn about you. Spoiled bitch." His vicious words were usually pushed aside, recycled day after day in their never ending arguments. However, tonight was new. There was no physical violence, but the words still felt like a kick to the ribs.
Both her mother and Regina recoiled in shock. Georgia winced and fluttered her hands around in unhidden panic.
"What the fuck?" She whispered. Her mother's eyes softened at Regina's glossy ones and shook her head. "I should have told you."
"Yeah, no shit. What's next? You're not my mom either?" At her mother's suddenly blank look, her jaw dropped. "What the fuck?!" She shouted before running up the stairs. Georgia yelled one last time to the man, who shuffled down into the basement where he would no doubt get into his mini fridge and drink the night away.
Her mother, if she could even call her that, sat outside the door, not apologizing for the lies, or everything she's allowed that man to do in their own home, but to defend herself.
As it turns out, her mother was pregnant with her father's baby but she was diagnosed with Osteogenesis Imperfecta type 2 and passed away while her father was still on a business trip. Her mother had went out irrationally and searched for a baby at the same hospital that she had given birth in. She couldn't go home and tell her husband that their baby died. He would call her a failure. She'd die.
When she found a baby that was born on the same day and looked. . . close enough like the both of them, she stole her. It was a hospital with bad security on the south side of town. No one ever reported it and no one ever looked for the child, so she got away with it. But as the years passed, Regina's skin darkened in the summer while becoming a pale white in the colder months. Jery and Georgia both had tanned italian skin, and light brown hair year round. Their eyes were narrow and their bone structure less than striking.
