A searing gold light shone through the large windows, waking the prince. He groaned, shielding his eyes. Stretching, as he got off his bed, his thoughts began to wander once more. He glanced at the window, several weeks had passed since he had first met Sally, at that very spot.

Despite his best efforts, the young girl never stopped coming and he had to admit, he enjoyed her company. She was unafraid to speak her mind, making her good at giving advice among other things. He was often seeking her out for her thoughts and opinions, of which she openly gave him. They had quickly become close friends, and though Techno still felt wary of her, he trusted her enough to talk about his struggles, mostly being about his siblings and even more so his father.

He felt himself worrying about his relationship with his siblings, it had been damaged by their time separated. Things seemed to be going well, however. There was obviously still a lot to catch up on, after all it had been 6 years since he has last seen them. Still, he was happy his brothers hadn't changed much, Tommy still had his chaotic energy, not a piece of him had mellowed out. All though Wilbur seemed to have lossed some of his edge, now being more quiet and shy. Along with that, his being tall, lanky and awkward didn't help it. Despite it all though, he did still manage to make the occasional sarcastic comment.

One thing still haunted his mind, he had been able to dismiss most of his worries but he couldn't shake this one. At first he was confused, his father used to be an upbeat person, happy, cheerful, and most of all, loving. It had been 4 weeks since he started talking to his family again and his father had yet to interact with him much. He said the occasional greeting when necessary, but otherwise he seemed to avoid the oldest prince at all costs. Techno just took to the assumption that his father was afraid of him. Or more, afraid of what the prince, boy or not, could do. He attempted to distract himself, whether it was by playing with Tommy, helping Wilbur or spending time with Sally. At night was when he couldn't escape, the voices filling his head, those of his thoughts, doubts, fears, or others.

He shook his head to clear the thoughts, glancing once more to the window where he first met Sally. The night before she had explained to him that she had matters to attend to in the morning and most likely wouldn't show up until sunset or early night, possibly shortly after dinner if she could make it out earlier.

He walked over to the door, each step making the old wooden floorboards creak, the door mimicking the sound as he opened it. He shuffled down the hallway, he had slept in too long and he could see the sun creeping higher, casting large shadows in the castle hallways. After a few minutes of walking, he reached the large doors that opened into the family's personal dining room. A good-sized table sat in the center of the room. An ornate centrepiece rested on the table. Five chairs surrounded the table, though two sat empty. One was his own and the other his late mother's.

"You're late." His father stated, staring into the red eyes of his eldest son.

Techno mumbled a sorry before sitting down in his chair. Tension held like ice. The air was brittle enough to snap at any moment. He could feel his father's gaze boring into his skull, watching his every move. Wilbur looked awkward, looking back and forth between the two while Tommy looked lost, unsure of what to make of the situation and less what to do. Or possibly he was racking his brain for a joke to melt the tension.
