TAEHYUNG POV

The day of their wedding was a busy one but their marriage was only a small part of it.

It was also the day Joon had chosen to give his first speech to the people of hybe since his coronation.

Tae didn't think it was a coincidence that he'd chosen that day and all indications were that the speech was going to be an important one.

They kept the wedding simple having it out in the open on the beach itself.

Taehyung, Jungkook, and Jimin were barefoot wearing simple loose white shirts matched with tan pants.

Each of them held their son's in their arms for the first half of the ceremony which kept Tae too busy to be nervous.

Bam ran around their legs, barking excitedly now and then.

As was traditional in adversarial bonds, they stood in a triangle, both he and Jungkook facing Jimin.

Not everyone in attendance had been explicitly told the truth about the nature of his and Jungkook's relationship but Tae suspected that most of those who hadn't been told had already guessed.

As the celebrant spoke, he met his dad's eyes he was happy that he'd come around where omegas in general.

And Jimin in particular, were concerned.

Tae was pretty sure a lot of that was down to his mom finally putting her foot down and the rest of it thanks to the triplets.

The little ones were endlessly endearing to even the hardest of hearts.

It wasn't long at all before the 'I do's' were said and rings exchanged.

The expected conclusion with an adversarial bond was that each alpha kissed the omega.

And so they did, Jungkook first, and then Tae.

But then Jungkook turned toward him cupped his cheek and smiled at him.

"If we can't be ourselves in front of our family and friends then what the hell is any of this for?" he asked softly, then leaned in and kissed Tae taking his breath away.

* * *

After the ceremony, they had a good old-fashioned party plenty of food and drink, music and the lure of the sea and the sand.

Tae noticed Joon slip away early to go prepare for his speech which was to be broad cast live from the study in Kai's house.

There was some excitement and trepidation, not just among the wedding party but across the country and a lot of the world.

There had been a lot of hints and suggestions that some thing big was coming, that changes were afoot.

And everyone was waiting to hear what those changes would be.

At a signal from Kai, everyone headed indoors.

Bam and the kids were taken upstairs while the speech went ahead and the double doors that divided the living room and the study were opened up fully.

He, Jimin, Jungkook and the rest of the guests all got front row seats to Joon's big speech.

Someone counted Joon down and then the alpha, their king started to speak.

The first few sentences were what Tae expected, the family's ongoing sadness at the loss of their husband, father and king.

And then things got interesting.

"Our kingdom is divided," Joon said.

"Our citizens are suffering."

"There is a lack of trust among us and that lack of trust has led to a terrible injustice."

"It has taken from some of our citizens their basic rights and freedoms."

"Trust comes from honesty and so I'm going to start there a clean slate."

"Our history has been twisted bound together with lies that served some people and unfairly took from others."

Joon paused and took a breath his gaze on the camera pointed at him.

"I am here, speaking to you now to tell you what I and my brothers aided by our tireless police force have recently learned."

And then Joon did exactly what Kai had told him was needed all those months before he told the most intriguing tale that the country had ever heard.

Of an alpha jilted by an omega in favor of his brother who years later took his revenge not on that same alpha and omega but on their son and on every omega in their kingdom through the introduction of the omega laws.

And Joon didn't stop there.

He laid it all out every attempt they'd discovered to further malign omegas, to manipulate the royal succession, right down to the kidnapping of Princess Lisa and the blame being placed squarely on the shoulders of an innocent omega.

Joon drew the connections so clearly that tae suspected even someone hearing it for the first time and knowing nothing about the kingdom's history would have been able to follow it.

Joon's speech concluded with a simple message.

"The omega laws were brought to life on the back of lies and deceit and forced upon us by the stroke of a pen."

"They can be undone just the same way, right here and now this very minute."

He picked up a pen, signing his name in broad strokes across the page in front of him.

"But it is not enough just to revoke these punitive laws."

"Our omegas have suffered for far too long in silence."

"We must give them a voice, give them the freedoms they have been denied and we must make sure no group of our citizens is ever again discriminated against in this way alpha, beta or omega."

"We will tear these laws down and rebuild our society make it something better, some thing stronger."

"The kingdom of hybe will be a kingdom united once more."

At a signal from Joon, one of the cameras panned around, taking in the group of them watching Joon's speech from the next room.

Tae could see tears on more than one face though every one was smiling.

"We did it," Lucas said softly in disbelief as Kai hugged him tightly.

Joon stood up and went to join his family showing the country the royal family united alpha, beta and omega.

A few minutes later, the cameras were switched off and the crew left, leaving them alone once more.

"You've just thrown the country into chaos," Jungkook said though Tae noticed he didn't seem particularly unhappy about it.

"For a while," Kai said.

"It had to happen if we were going to get the change we need."

"But we'll build a better world out of it."

A world where every child, omega or no had the chance to soar.
