Surfing Nationals

Sam's POV:

As I was getting my board ready for today's competition, I noticed Colby and the girls were making signs for me. Once I was done with my board, I quickly got ready and changed into my surf suit. "Ok guys we better get going I don't want to be late," I told them.

Once we got to the beach I went to go sign off so the judges will know that I'm there already. As the first two contestants went first, Colby pulled me aside. "Hey Colbs, what wrong?" I asked him. "Oh nothing just wanted to wish you good luck," he said as he hugged me. I thanked him as I hugged him back.

"Oh also I want you to wear this," Colby said as he placed his locket around my neck. "What?! Colby I can't it's yours and it's very special," I told him. "It's special just like you," he replied back. I slightly blushed as I smiled at him. "Besides think of this as a good luck charm," he said. "Thanks, Colbs I'll make sure to be extra careful with it," I said as I hugged him.

"Up Next It's Samuel Golbach vs. Zachary James," "Oh I got to go see you in a bit Colbs," I then grabbed my board and I went into the water. Zach went first and he didn't do a bad job. "Beat that Golbach," he sneered at me as he got near me. "Oh believe me I will," I replied back.

Colby's POV:

Sam sure was better than Zach. Tara and Devyn each held a sign as we were all cheering for Sam. "Golbach needs to conquer the same big wave as before, if he makes it he moves on to nationals, if he doesn't he's automatically eliminated until next year."

"Come On Sam You Got This!" I cheered as the others cheered as well. Sam then rode his board toward the big wave and stood up. Just as the wave made contact with his board, he automatically surfs it.

"I Can't Believe It Folks, He's Actually Doing It!" the announcer shouts. I then began to cheer for him once again. "Go, Sam!" the guys also cheered as the girls were cheering and jumping up and down while holding up their signs.

Once Sam was done he got out of the water and ran towards us. He immediately hugs me. "Way to go, Sam," I told him as I hugged him back. The competition went on for another hour until finally, it was time to announce the four winners that will join the nationals.

"Alright, folks it seems like the judges already decided the top four winners. In fourth place. Franklin Sanders, in third place we have Charlie Handerson. This just leaves us with Zachary James and Samuel Golbach. "

I looked to see Sam looking nervous, so I grabbed his left hand. "Don't worry I know you'll win first place," I whispered in his ear. "In second place we have......Zachary James. This means Samuel Golbach wins first place. Congratulations you four, now come on up and pick up your trophies. "

Sam then lets go of my hand and runs to pick up his prize. Once he grabs it, he then runs towards us and launches straight at me, and hugs me. "I guess your locket was lucky after all," he tells me. "I knew you could do it," I told him as we released ourselves from our hug.

"Congrats bro," Corey said as he hugged him. "Yeah brother you crushed that wave," Jake said as he hugged him as well. "Congrats Sam," Tara hugged him. "Yeah, you were amazing," Dev said as she hugged him as well.

Time Skip

Once Sam and I got home after having celebratory ice cream, Sam then showed his parents his trophy as he tells them how he made it to nationals. "That's My Boy!" Mr. Golbach said as he ruffles Sam's hair. "We Are So Proud Of You Sam!" Mrs. Golbach said as she hugs him.
