Ethans POV:
The next morning was super awkward. My parents had been dancing around me the whole morning and honestly, I was dancing around them too. I just couldn't face the fact that my dad had overheard me asking Benny out, but what made it even worse is the fact that he didn't know the context.
I don't think I have ever raced out of my house so fast.
I had texted Benny that morning to let him know that I would just meet him at school because I didn't want to give my parents another reason to think that we were an item.
After a long, cold mornings walk I had eventually arrived at School and was greeted by an overly energetic Rory.
"Ethan, hey! How was your day yesterday?" He had asked me.
"It was fine, Benny and I had just spent the day up in my room playing video games. How was yours?" I replied, looking around the school hallways to try and find my bestfriend.
"It was great. I had spent the day with Erica looking for food, if you know what I mean huh" He wiggled his eyebrows at me as if he was making some stupid sexual innuendo.
"Hey Ethan, over here" I heard Benny shout at me as I spotted him by his locker.
"Hey B, how are you?"
"I'm good. Did your parents mention anything to you this morning?" He had asked me, referring to yesterday evening.
"No but we've been dancing around each other the whole morning. I just don't know how to bring it up, you know?"
The bell had rang as soon as Benny closed his locker so we had no other choice but to continue the conversation at lunch.

Rorys POV:
It was lunch which meant I finally had time to update Ethans parents on everything so I excused myself and left for a more private place beind the school to text them without Ethan or Benny finding out.
Group chat between Rory (R), Samantha (S) and Ross
R: Benny and Ethan had mentioned it this morning asking if any of you had talked about it and Ethan said he didn't know how to bring the topic up in conversation.
Oh and he had also called Benny "B"
S: Oh god, I can't believe the situation. It's so awkward knowing my son might be dating his bestfriend 😳
ROSS: Have they done anything coupley or flirtatious?
R: They have been pretty touchy, feely today I guess
ROSS: Thank you Rory, we really appreciate this
S: Please keep looking
R: I will Mrs. Morgan
I locked my phone and headed back to the lunch hall. I love being a help to Ethans parents because it makes me feel included in things.
"There you are. Where'd you go?" Ethan asked me
"Just went to go pee" I smiled innocently
"Right ok then" He laughed then turned his full attention back to Benny, who was ranting about some magic trick he had been trying to perfect.
"What else did you two do last night? Minus playing video games" I asked trying not to sound too suspicious or weird
"Why?" Benny asked
"Just wondering, I mean surely you didn't spend all your time playing games, right?"
"We pretty much did, and by the time we were finished it was pretty much time for Benny to go home. So we got ready and I walked him back to his place"
"Why, he only lives down the road?"
"I wanted to make sure he got home alright and Jesse didn't get to him like last time. I don't want to lose him again, that was terrifying" Ethan had answered with a slight sadness to his voice
I gave him a small smile as I quickly text the group chat letting his parents know what he had told me.
Group chat
R: Ethan had just told me he walked Benny home last night because he wanted to make sure he got home safe last night.
S: Thank you Rory, we really appreciate this.
