Chapter Two (The Freak)

Eddie's POV

 The bell rings and I rush to first hour then I go sit in my spot in the back. Then of course here comes our stupid principle. But he comes in with a new girl? She was looking around and she saw me. Shit. We made eye contact. I look away and start carving on the table. Then the teacher starts talking I listened but didn't look up. Then I heard my name get called. I look up and she told me to raise my hand so I did. "You will be sitting with him sweetie." she said. "Thank you." the new girl said. She started walking towards me and sat down. Right. Next. To. Me. She said, "Hi you must be Eddie." I look up at her and she had the most beautiful smile I had ever seen. She looked familiar but why? I ignored her and started writing the bands next song. She looked over and she smiled. "You like music huh?", She said. "Yeah you?", I asked. She nodded then continued to do work. The bell rang and she got up and walked to her next class. Then it was finally lunch. I head to my table and I see at the corner of my eye. I turn my head and see Mike and Dustin running up to me. "Eddie there is something we have to tell you." Dustin said out of breath. He finally caught his breath and started talking about the new girl. 

"Dude do you know who the new girl is?" Dustin said. "No but I sit next to her in history tho." I said. Dustin and Mike open their mouth with shock. I close their mouths and ask them to explain what's going on. "Dude she's a musician. I was wondering why she looked so familiar." Dustin said. "Shit." I said. "What?", said the group. I pointed and they looked she started to walk into the lunch room and Jason walks up to her. I look over and see Chrissy and getting jealous. She gets up and starts walking towards Jason and Y/n. "Shit..." , I said again. This time the guys knew why I was saying it this time. I get up and start walking towards Y/n. I put my hands around her waist and whispered in her ear, "Be careful with Chrissy." She looked at me confused. I said," 12 o'clock" She looked and saw her. I backed up and stood behind Y/n. Jason angrily said," what you want freak?" I didn't respond to him. Chrissy comes up and smacks Y/n.

Y/n's POV

 Chrissy comes up behind Jason and smacks me. Everyone looked. I brought my head back up and laughed. She looked at me confused. I said, "that's all you got blonde?" "Back away from my boyfriend bitch." She said while swinging at me again. I grabbed her hand and brought it to her back and grabbed the other hand. She winched in pain. I went up to her ear and whispered, "I can easily dislocate your shoulders if I push them closer. Don't tempted me Cunningham." she started crying so I pushed her to the ground. Jason gets all up in my face and I pull my knife out where no one could see and put it to his stomach. "I'd suggest you back up Jason. Oh and Cunningham I don't like your boyfriend he seems like a total douche anyways." I said while putting my knife back in my sleeve. I walk away and call Billy. I text Max that I'm leaving. "Hey sis what's up is everything okay?" Billy said. "Oh yeah definitely. But I'm leaving school I'm gonna go for a walk. I'll be back later." I said. "Be safe okay? If anything happens-" Billy said before I interrupted him. "I'll call if I need anything don't worry. Love you." "Love you too" Billy said and I hung up. 

I could feel someone walking up behind me and I pull out my knife and turn a corner to see if they were following me. And yet they were I pulled them into the janitors closet and held my knife up to their neck. I turn the light on and of course.. It was Eddie. "I see you're following me now?" I said while I put my knife back. "Sorry didn't mean to scare you." He said. "That was pretty badass what you did back there. It was kinda hot." I laugh. "Thanks. My brother taught me how to do that stuff and-" I said. "To always bring a knife just in case." Eddie and I both said at the same time. "Words of wisdom by the one and only Billy Hargrove." Eddie said with a smile. "You know my brother?" I asked. "Duh! Him and I were really close when he still was in school." He said. "Where you off to if I may ask?" "I'm going to the picnic table in the woods behind the school. Wanna come?" I asked. He nodded. We started to head to the woods and I started to hum a melody. He looks at me. "Oh sorry. I just have this melody in my head." I said. "No its okay." he chuckles.  We both get to the picnic table and sit down. I grab my music equipment from my bag and put the melody down that has been stuck in my head. I look up and Eddie was amused on what I was doing. "So musician huh?" He said. I looked up and nodded. "Hey so I have these lyrics but  it's all I got so far and I was wondering if can get your opinion." I asked him. He smiled and nodded. 

I played the melody and sang the lyrics I had. I looked up at Eddie and his eye were sparkling from the sun light shinning down. He had a smile on his face and his dimples started to show. I don't know why but I couldn't stop looked into eyes. There was something, he was easy to read but there was one part that was mysterious and I wanted to figure out what it was. I couldn't help but smile at him. " I loved it." He said with a smile still on his face. We had talked for hours and I realized it started to get dark. Shit. Billy is probably freaking out where I am. I checked the time at is 7:30 in the afternoon. My stomach started to growl. I looked up at Eddie and he knew I was hungry. "Hey Hargrove let's go get you something to eat." He said with a smile on his face still. I nodded and we started to walk back to his van but then I realized something. We weren't the only ones here. I pulled out my knife and he realized that I had it out. He sensed something off when he saw my knife. "Hey Hargrove is everything okay?" He said.

Eddie's POV

 She shook her head no. "Hey lets take a picture so we can keep this memory." She said while her voice was trembling. I nodded and we took the picture and she zoomed in to the back after taking it. She pointed it out on what was in the back of the picture. It was Jason and his group following us. Were they in the forest with us? I put my hand on her waist and whispered in her ear, "Be ready." She nodded. We took a sharp right and hid behind the dumpster to see if they were following still. Yet they still were following. We heard Jason say something." Quit hiding freak we know you're with Y/n." She stands up and walks out. She had her knife behind her back. and she told me to stay there and no matter what happens for me to stay there. That's when something was gonna happen. " What do you want Jason?" She said while walking towards them.

Y/n's POV

 "We were gonna beat up freak but it seems like he's gone. So I guess we will have to beat you up." He said with a smirk on his face. I pull my knife out from behind my back and I smirked. "Is that so?" I said. "It's 5 against one Y/n you're gonna lose." He said angrily. Him and his group started walking towards me. I swung my knife and cut one of the guys arm. They got pissed off when I did that. Jason grabbed my wrist that had the knife in it and he took the knife out of my hand. I went to swing with my free hand and grabbed that one. Shit I'm gonna die. He threw me against the bring wall of the school and I hit my head on the wall and dropped to the ground. My vision was getting blurry but I wasn't gonna give up with a fight. I started to sit up but I got kicked into the stomach and I dropped again. Jason and his group started punching and kicking me. I felt like my life was gonna end like this. Getting beaten to death. I could see my body laying their lifeless. 

Eddie's POV

I finally heard them walk away and it went silent. I didn't hear Y/n say anything. I got up and saw her body laying helpless. She was losing a lot of blood and she had bruises cuts everywhere. I picked her up and took her to my van. I ran to the drivers side and I called Billy while I was speeding to the hospital. I get a quick glimpse of Y/n's body and it looked lifeless. I started to freak out so I sped faster to the hospital. Billy finally picked up the phone. "Hey man what's up?, Billy said. "I need  you to meet me at the hospital. Right away." I said trumbling with my words. "What's going on?" Billy said worriedly. "It's Y/n." I said started to cry. Billy can't lose her sister. Max can't lose her sister. I can't lose her either..
