Incertitude

I got up late today since today is my mom's day off. I didn't have the time to check on my phone though. Agad akong nag handa for school. Mom and I decided to go buy some milk tea first, she's been craving it.

"Ma." Tawag ko. "Tinanong ako ng friends ko if I want to eat with last night but I said next time. Am I good to go?" Paalam ko sakanya.

She made it very clear that I can but not at night. She gave me permission to go out after school but I have to tell her when and where. She also told me to give her the names of the people I'll be hanging out with.

"Yeah uh." I said. "Calm down, but don't worry. I'll let you know." Natatawa kong sabi.

She dropped me off in front of the school this time and I saw Felise waiting by the gate. I bid my mom goodbye and rushed towards my friend.

"Hi Nina!"

"Hi Felise."

Nag kwentuhan kami while waiting for the second period bell to ring. She asked me how my day was and I asked about her dah. Just like the usual things we ask each other all the time.

She showed me her pet dog, and I gladly told her it looked like my dog. Pinakita ko iyon sakanya and we both laughed. Two different, that look exactly the same in the picture. Tsaka ko naman napansin ang notification center ko.

It's Milo.

Milo: You weren't in the coffee shop

Milo: Rylie's been bugging—are you ok?

Milo: did something happen between you two yesterday?

Ngumiti ako.

Nina Gray: lol Rylie and I are good

Nina Gray: you can just give him my # so he won't bug you

I heard the bell and so I put my phone in my pocket and nag lakad kami ni Felise papasok ng gate. A lot of people seemed to be talking about the same thing. I keep hearing the word prom. I just shrugged it off and mentally removed any thoughts I have on it.

Madami akong nakasalubong sa hallway na mga kakilala ko, as usual, I gave them a hug. We laughed and had small talks but I can't have Felise waiting on me. I apologized to her, tumawa sya and she said 'you're good Nina.'

Even my teacher in my first class keeps talking about the prom. She asked our class who's going to the prom. Heck I didn't even know there was a prom coming up.

"Are you guys going?" Tanong samin ni Lou. They leaned closer to me and asked for food. I gave them a piece of oreo.

"Thank you." Mahina nyang sabi.

"Nina, we should go to the prom together." Felise said. "Yeah, the four of us!"

It's not a bad idea actually, prom with friends. That's cool. I don't like prom though-or I'm lowkey scared of it since it's going to be my first prom-that is, if I'm going.

"I can't go." Lou said. Inexplain nya kung bakit, they said they need to work during that time. And the most important thing for Juniors like us isn't school—it's money.

Megan also likes the idea of us going. Felise on the other hand started blurting things. "Oh but I think someone's gonna ask Nina out."

Nag simula na silang gisahin ako.

"Who?" Nakangiti nilang tanong sakin. I made a face tsaka umiling. "Who, Nina?" Ulit nila.

"No one." I answered. I would give it a thought if I'm going with my friends. But I wouldn't if someone were to ask me. It's not like saying there will be someone, I don't want to get ahead of myself.
