Fate Gives Second Chances

Back in Khaenri’ah….it was a mess. Everyone was depressed. They had a curse put on them when the slavery began. Immortality followed. Yuuxuan made a contract with the Raiden Shogun. To grant these citizens eternal life, and in exchange, the man would give the Shogun a spell to banish mortals to an endless pit of darkness. The only feelings that the Khaenri’ans could feel were sorrow and pity. Joy was no more. The man had caged the queen, banished her to an eternal loop of temporal death, regret and despair. Everyone would continue their lives, but without their lives at the same time. They were ordered to go outside, gather around the gemstone, say their newly invented prayer, offer something to the god, and leave. Everyone became lazy slouches. Khaenri’ah was doomed to fall if everything continued the way that it was going. It went into lockdown. No one was able to enter or leave. If you attempted, you would be sentenced to being restricted to never leave your house ever again.
Yuuxuan had made the castle colored pitch black. He had summoned his assistant, his bodyguard-like person, her name was Freya, she had long, black hair that abruptly stopped and turned to white at the end. She was wearing a trail dress that was a dark burgundy color. Pale skin with brown eyes. “Master, would you like some wine?” She said to Yuuxuan. He was painting, as cruel as he was, he loved to paint. It was rumored that whatever he painted, would happen. What he was painting, you may be asking? He painted a man, he looked noble and royal. He was soaked in blood, lying on the concrete floor while it was storming. It was Kaeya’s father. Right when he finished, that was when chaos struck Kaeya. He smirked, knowing what would happen.
“No thank you, i’m good.” He said to the lady, who nodded in return. He decided to take a break, go outside, and look at the destruction he had caused.

Crepus brought Kaeya and Diluc to Mondstat, where they would go to a playground and play together. This time, they played tag. Kaeya was it. “I'm gonna get you! Hehe, you better run Diluc!” He said, while running with a big fat grin on his face, laughing.
“No you’re not!” Diluc replied, also laughing and smiling while running away. Crepus just sat on the bench that was near, smiling and enjoying the kids running around, playing. It seemed like the perfect day. It was a very sunny morning, pinkish orange sky, no clouds. It was just a perfect day, a once-in-a-life-time-day. “Noooooooo….whatever, you better start running!” Diluc stated, after being tagged by Kaeya. They continued to run around. Eventually, they both fell onto the rubber floor of the playground, they both were laying on their backs, with a hand on their stomach, laughing and breathing heavily from how out of breath they got from running. “Good game, brother.” Diluc said.
Kaeya, instead of smiling, looked surprised, and then plastered a warm smile on his face. “Good game too, brother.” Kaeya was surprised, how could this family have taken him in so quickly. After laying in silence, Diluc eventually stood up.
“Come, let’s go down the slides!” He said, looking down at Kaeya and offering his hand to help him get up. Like Diluc said, they went up the playground, down the double slide, got up, went back up, and repeated the same process until they finally went up to Master Diluc and asked if they could go home because they were exhausted. They arrived at the park at 6:00 AM, and left at 10:00 AM. “Can we go to Angel’s Sharel please papa?” Diluc said to Crepus, he had told the kids that it was a super fancy restaurant that serves kid meals, which Crepus had paid the tavern to have a kid’s menu for only the two boys. The truth was that whatever they ordered from the menu which was Sarah’s menu, the restaurant in mondstat, they would quickly rush over, get the food, and deliver it to the kids.
“Alright, but do yall know what yall will order?” to which the two boys nodded yes to.
As they arrived, the employee at the tavern greeted them and seated them. “And what would you boys like?”
“I'd like a..chicken mushroom skewer please!” Kaeya said to the man, with a big bright smile on his face.
“I'd like ‘pile em’ up’ please.” Diluc said, looking at the worker with another smile.
“And for you, Master?” He said to Crepus
“I’m good, I just came here because the kids wanted food.”
“Alright! Your food will be delive-   here shortly.” And with that, the man left.

Whenever the food arrived. They stayed and talked. “So, where did you come from, Kaeya?” Crepus asked.
“Me? I come from….a place.” He said, remembering what happened, the events.

"Papa, where are we going? Why is it so dark outside?" The little boy said, wondering why his father was running with him away from the castle, the little prince was propped and laid on top of the king's shoulder. He looked up from looking down at the ground, he saw his people, laying on the floor, walking, standing still, they all looked unconscious but at the same time like they knew what they were doing. Kaeya saw the sky next. It was not ordinary. The fake sky was a dark deep red. His home turned black and corrupted. He started to realize that this wasn’t normal, this wasn’t his home anymore. He realized why his father gave him no answer, it was because of what was going on, not him or his dad could put words together to explain this. It was just…something terrible that happened.

After the events in the Dawn winery, the Anemo Archon, who was completely oblivious to what just happened, sensed a very strange presence. He and the other archons have read about Khaenri’ah and it’s threats to civilization. They didn’t know what it felt, but Venti was experiencing it first hand. He felt, odd, he felt threatened, he felt scared. It wasn’t too bad, it was liveable, but he was aware. He shrugged it off as a weird archon tingle of old age. ‘Good god, am I that old? I can't help but feel bad for Zhongli.’ he thought, as he continued to drink red wine at Angel’s Share. The taste and effect of wine hit him, as the feeling dispersed. But what the archon didn’t know, was that a Khaenri’ah just step foot on his nation.
