The New Girl in Town

Chapter 1

It was early March 1986, and Lizzie Charles, was moving to  new town, her parents were splitting up and her mother decided to move so that they could get a new start. Her mom decided on Hawkins, Indiana of all places. 

" Mom, why are we here... it's the middle of freaking nowhere... I am not going to make friends here... I wanna go back home" Lizzie said begrudgingly to her mother in the back of their station wagon getting ready to turn into their new home. "We're here for a fresh start for the both of us, I think it's what you and I both need." Her mom said.  They arrived at their mobile home in a dumpy trailer park at the edge of Hawkins.  They both got out of the car and Lizzie sighs.. They both walk up to the house and over in the distance Lizzie sees someone..  he was kinda tall and lanky, long curly black hair.. she caught herself staring at him and spacing out... He never turned and looked her direction.. They walked into the trailer and her and her mom started to unpack.

Lizzie walks into what is her now bedroom, the movers had brought her bed and everything in there for her before her and her mom arrived. She couldn't stop thinking about that guy she saw.. she had to see what he looked like, her curiosity had become of her and she was wondering all kinds of things about him... That night she went to sleep and dreamt about him.. then her alarm went off.. 

It was time for Lizzie's first day at Hawkins high, she was awkward, nerdy and shy.. She wore her favorite band Metallica's shirt, a light-washed pair of jeans and white converse high tops, and wore a flannel shirt around her waist.. she pulled back her light brown hair into a ponytail. She went through the first half of her day wondering about the guy she saw when she came to town last night.. then it was lunch time.. 

There were all these guys sitting together.. They called themselves the  "Hellfire Club", they looked like they were Lizzie's type of people. She played D&D back home but they never really had a club name or anything for it. Then out of nowhere, this gorgeous boy with long curly black hair is sitting at the head of their table.. Lizzie is absolutely in awe of this boy.. he is absolutely gorgeous.. has a beautiful smile, and deep brown eyes.. He's wearing vest with a lot of band patches on it that she recognizes.. So she  walks up to him, shyly, and says.. "Hi my name's Lizzie I am new here just moved from Illinois with my mom, I like all your band pins and patches, I was wondering if I could hang out with you guys here, I haven't really found a crowd I fit in with yet.." Then the boy said " Sure, my name's Eddie, and as you can see we're Hellfire.. a D&D club, but I suppose you can join us.." She pulls up a chair close to him at the table and he is sitting there just smiling at Lizzie, it's like they were destined to find each other. Before Lizzie knew it she was chuckling and laughing away with the Hellfire crew.. but she wanted to know more about their leader and wanted to become closer to him.. the lunch bell rang and she ran up to Eddie and tapped him on the shoulder.. "Hey, um I was wondering what you were doing after school today, I was wondering if I could possibly join your group and get to know you better?" Eddie looks back at Lizzie and says, "I'm not doing much of anything tonight, just preparing for the next session of Hellfire, which you are more than welcome to join with us.. How about you meet me after school and you and I can go back to my place, my uncle is working a double tonight and won't be home, he doesn't like it when I bring home company.."  Lizzie was absolutely shocked that he said yes to agree to meet with her. " Well then I guess I will see you after school then.." She smiled and then walked away.. Eddie replied "Yeah, I guess I'll see ya.."
