"He's a Professor! You cannot talk about wanting to bang Professors, Iris!" Nyx Nott adjusted her many books in her arms, trying to check the small piece of parchment with all of her classes on it. She begun to tune Iris out. It was a fair thing to do, all Iris had been doing is ogling this new Professor. Going on and on about how "good looking" and "fuckable" he supposedly was. The Nott quickly stopped in front of a classroom, and shoved the parchment slip into her Ravenclaw robes.
"It's true! I had him first thing this morning, you're going to die when you see him!" Iris tugged on her friends arm at the same time Abraxas appeared at both of their sides. They were a trio, they'd all been friends since their first year. But now it's their seventh, and they've almost begun to drift apart. Abraxas had caused both girls to to jump, Iris letting out a small string of curses at him, while the other two laughed at her. They all walked into the classroom, sitting down in the back of the room as Iris continued to talk about this new Professor. It was getting old, Abraxas and Nyx were done hearing about it.
"Will you shut up about him? Merlins beard, every single girl I've been in contact with today has been obsessing over him!" Abraxas exclaims as he kicks his legs up onto the table in front of them all. Nyx nodded in agreement, acting like the outburst didn't frighten her. She begun setting her books down and turned to face Iris, whose face had twisted into disappointment.
"Me and Brax have him next hour. We'll see just how 'fuckable' he is for ourselves. Now please drop it, class is starting and I need an Outstanding in Potions this year" Nyx whispered to her friend, feeling a little bad for the harshness of her own words, even though it was the one thing to finally shut Iris up. The curly haired girl rolled her eyes at her friend, and Abraxas stifled a laugh as they all turned to face Professor Slughorn at the front of the class.
The class goes by smoothly, Potions was a pretty easy class for Nyx and her friends. Most of the hour involved Nyx flirting with Abraxas, harmless laughs and the occasional accidentally on purpose hand touching. It isn't a secret they've fancied each other for years, but as they begun to grow older and time has gone by, her feelings for the Malfoy have weakened, while his have done nothing but grow. She was just too focused on her classes and dreams of becoming a Healer to get into relationships, especially one with a Malfoy. They were dangerous. She came from a family who valued safety, and valued the company of each other. Malfoy's were no good.
As Nyx begun getting older, she had payed more attention to peoples opinions on blood statuses and the stigmas against Muggleborn and Halfblood witches and wizards. While a Pureblood herself, she wasn't biased. She didn't understand why people cared about the blood in other peoples veins. The hate against Muggleborn and Halfblood witches and wizards seemed to have doubled in the past decade or two, and people are more keen on staying away from the "unpure".
When the girl first became friends with Iris and Abraxas, she never pegged them for the type to be friends with a Nott. But after reaserching the families (Iris was a Zabini, a respected wizarding family. Abraxas was obviously a Malfoy, a man from one of the biggest and richest families) it was clear that the three were a perfect match.
The Nott was snapped out of her thoughts as she began to feel Abraxas gently dragging his fingertips up and down her thigh under her blue plaid skirt. She glanced over at the man, beginning to roll her eyes while gingerly taking his hand into hers. He allowed that as compensation, and the pair turned their attention back over to Slughorn. The girl noted any new information in the back of her mind, taking the occasional note or two on the parchment provided in front of her. Every student had one, yet she seemed to be the only one using it. As per usual. She was smart, and she cared about her studies a great deal. She always wanted to become a Healer, or something that would help others.
The class quickly ended after that, and the three friends all get up. They shoved their books into their bags, and Iris pushed all of the forgotten chairs in. Abraxas left to go over to some of his other friends, and Iris began to nudge the shorter girls shoulder as the two walked out of the classroom.
"You still have the hots for Malfoy? Don't even deny it, I saw you both in class. Holding hands like small children" Nyx let out a loud groan at the curly haired girl as they begin walking, ignoring her words and trying to focus on finding her own Defense Against the Dark Arts class. Iris kept pestering Nyx to talk about him, and eventually she just give in. She didn't care for Abraxas like that, but nobody would believe it. Perhaps after a few shots of Fire Whiskey, she'd stop believing it as well. After all, drunk actions are just sober thoughts.
"I don't fancy him! Will you please stop talking about it, I'm going to lose my mind" Nyx snapped at her friend, putting the parchment with her classes on it into her robes. The raven haired girl stepped off to the side of the door to let other students go through, and Iris followed suit.
"Whatever. Tell the Professor I said hello" Iris walked off with a wink, earning a loud groan from her friend. The nervous girl began messing with the sleeves of her robes as she waited for Abraxas to get to the classroom. He quickly came around the corner, muttering an apology as the pair walked into their class. Nyx quickly stopped once she saw the man sitting at the desk in the front of the room. One could only assume that he was the new Professor.
She was speechless, watching the young man while letting Abraxas drag her to a table near the back of the room. She tuned his groan of annoyance out, her eyes only focusing on the professor. And Iris was damn right about him being so called "fuckable". Nyx took the time to study his face, following his features with a sort of eagerness she hadn't felt in a very long time. Her light eyes traced his jaw, his cheekbones, and his own pair of dark eyes. Something about them almost frightened her, seeming as if they held secrets. But that turned her on. She liked that. She began adjusting her hips in the chair, yet she suddenly went still once his eyes locked with hers.
Her lips separated, allowing her to suck in a breath of air. She felt herself begging to flush red out of embarrassment, somehow feeling like she was the only one staring. Her legs opened under the table, she could swear his gaze darted down with the movement. Before Nyx could tell, he stood up and began to speak, introducing himself to the class sat before him.
"You all will address me as Professor Riddle. Please understand that today is going to be your only easy day. I don't care how laid back your old Professors were, I'm not them. I expect every single one of you to fill up a page of parchment about what you expect to learn from my class, and how you think it will help you in the future" And with that, he sits down and pulls a book out of his bag. But his voice. It was entrancing. The slight accent, along with the hard tone made Nyx almost excited to grab out a quill.
She begun to write. And she wrote well. Anything for Professor Riddle.
