"Spill? Spill what?" you say, on the verge of tears.

"We know about your dad, Y/n." Tony says.

"I-" you look at Steve as tear rolls down your cheek, your voice breaking. "You promised."

He looks genuinely upset with himself. "I'm sorry."

You run out of the kitchen to your room, slamming and locking the door. Sorry didn't mean anything coming from him. You trusted him. And he told everyone. Your vision blurry from tears, you grab a suitcase from under your bed and start to aimlessly throw things in. God you're so stupid! Why did you ever think anyone here could keep a secret? You hear loud and persistent knocking. It wasn't scary, just powerful and with a purpose.

"Y/n? Can I come in? Please?" Wanda says desperately.

"No!"

"Please?"

"NO! Just leave me alone!"

"Y/n if you don't open open this door I will."

You can tell that she's serious by the tone in her voice. But you just want to be alone. You sigh and look at your desk. You notice the scissors that you used to cut out some pictures last night...maybe...

All your thoughts are put on hold when Wanda bursts through the door. She follows your gaze to the scissors, then looks back at you, maintaining eye contact, then pulls you into a tight hug. You sniffle and break down in her arms.

"Hey, hey, it's okay.." she whispers, gently playing with your hair.

"N-no it's not! He p-promised!"

"I know darling, I know,"

You wish you could stay like this forever, in the comforting warmth of her arms. She kisses your head, whispering things like "It'll be okay". You're a crying mess, slowly falling apart as she tries to hold you together. You'd finally found a place where you felt welcome, now they all probably think that you're gonna turn out just like your father, which is one of your worst nightmares. You hate that man with all of your being, and never want to be like him. Never. Your mother said 'he's up his own arse', and frankly you agreed.

Wanda uses her magic to move the suitcase off the bed and sits down, pulling you into her lap. You hide your face in her chest, snuggling up, never wanting to let go. You've never felt this vulnerable before, so much for your 'I don't give two shits' exterior. You end up thinking of some very inappropriate nicknames for Steve, which helps you feel a little better, but not much.

You sniffle again. "If you want to leave you can, I'll be okay."

"No, I'm not leaving you until I know you're better. I know better than most what self-deception looks like."

"That might take a while, I understand if you want to go."

"No." she says firmly. "I'm not leaving you."

The fact that she cares about you this much brings you comfort. You'd mostly stopped crying by now, you'd used up all of your tears. God you were so glad she was here. She was the best...no-one else had ever been there for you like she was. You seem to have fallen asleep at some point, and wake up still in her arms.

"You get any sleep?" you ask her quietly.

She shakes her head. "No, I wanted to make sure you were okay. Do you feel any better?"

"Well I have a massive headache and never want to see Steve ever again, but other than that I'm great."

"Y/n I'm sure he didn't mean to tell everyone."

"But he did. I've never told anyone that before. And he had to go and tell everyone."

"I know, he shouldn't have told everyone."

You sigh and look up at her rubbing your eyes. She softly wipes the remaining tears from your face, as you look into each others eyes. Your faces inch closer to each other, and you can feel the warmth of her breath on your face. Your lips touch, but it's different to the last time you kissed. It's more passionate, more meaningful. Your hands cup her face, fingers tangled in her hair. She holds onto your waist, her hands soft on your skin. But, once again, you're rudely interrupted. It's Steve.

He knocks on the door. "Y/n? Can I talk to you?"

You sigh and pull away from Wanda. "Do I have to talk to him?"

"You probably should, it'd be good to smooth things over with him." she replies.

"Fine, fine." You get up and put on a shirt, opening the door. "What do you want?"

"I wanted to apologise. I'm sorry." he says, looking down.

You shrug. "It's fine."

"No, it was a stupid thing to do. I shouldn't have told anyone."

"Steve, it's okay, I promise."

"Okay. But I am really sorry."

You hesitate for a second then hug him, quietly making the decision to never tell him any of your secrets again. "I know."

He smiles and hugs back, before going back downstairs. You close the door and look at Wanda. She smiles at you, as you walk over and flop onto the bed.

"Well that was easy wasn't it?" she says.

You roll your eyes at her, sitting up. "Yeah, yeah, you were right, blah blah blah."

"I'm always right," she says laughing.

You playfully shove her. "Course you are."

She fake gasps. "What, you don't believe me?"

"Nope!" you giggle.

She lays down, putting her arms around your waist pulling you down with her. As you're both laughing, she mumbles something. You're unsure of what she said, but have a vague idea. The thought makes you turn red.

You're sure she just said 'I love you.'
