She had always heard and read about her family history. The history of the family who had struck a deal with the devil giving up their female children as hosts to the devil to walk amongst humans for wealth and prosperity but she never believed it. Infact, she didn't believe in God or the devil or anything the bible preached.

She believed humans were the key to saving themselves and that there was no divine intervention or whatsoever needed. This had been her belief until two days ago.

She had been having these lucid reoccurring dreams that almost seemed too real to be a dream. She would see herself in this dark place, a void filled with nothingness and emptiness and everytime she did, she would always feel a presence lurking behind her. A cold hand always gripping and latching itself to her and then she would wake up. The feeling of the touch still lingering all over her body and she could almost feel the presence in her room.

She had also read that she was the first female in eight generations. Apparently, after her ancestors had struck this deal with the devil, they proceeded to act foolishly and cheat the devil themself. They would go to a soothsayer and always determine the gender of their child. If it was a boy then he lives but if it was a girl, the pregnancy would be instantly terminated. This was the primary and most respected rule of the Winston family.

Apparently they'd outwitted the devil and had saved humanity. Her ancestors had discovered that if the devil was to potentially walk amongst humans, then that would be the destruction of the race and what would be their gain if everything was destroyed and she wouldn't lie, they were very intelligent for prehistoric humans. But either way she wasn't buying the story.

Her father being a Winston and a Christian also didn't also buy these stories and ultimately, he had left his wife, her mother to birth a girl even though the others and warned against it and this had cost him his life. Her mother and had her had escaped and sought refuge in the protection of the church and she had never expected their plea to be declined.

The church had turned their back on them saying that such abomination can never be allowed into the temple of the most High. She was only eight at this time but her intellect shone amongst and above her peers. She had ultimately lost faith and had drown her belief down the drain after this statement. They had only been accommodating them in the church only because of the huge donation that her father made every month and now that his death was all over the place and that it was his own brother that killed him, they had turned their back on them and left them to die without mercy.

She was twenty one now, and growing up was not very easy for her. Her mother had finally cracked and ran crazy after six years of living in fear, torment and shame and had lost her mental stability. She was currently in an asylum and she was just fourteen at this time.

They had relocated to a whole different environment and changed their names to Keller. Even though she still heard whispers of their past here and there, not many people knew it was them and not much pointed fingers. She had lead a normal life since then living and surviving off the unending wealth that apparently the devil provided.

Her name was Sarah, Sarah Keller and now, these nightmares were driving her crazy but she was living with them she had survived worse and including Religious Trauma Syndrome as a kid. A nightmare was the last thing that could possibly tie her down.

She concluded it was her obsession with horror movies that had just been playing tricks on her and she will cut down on the movies for now and try to clear her head, after all, she had important things to do. She had classes and she wasn't planning on being late.

She got herself prepared and walked down to her garage. She will visit her mother later that day before she returned to home.

She arrived on campus few minutes before her first class. In school she was literally a ghost not talking or involving herself with many people. She didn't want to have a run-in with someone who either spoke too much or asked too many questions and she did her best not to draw attention to herself.
