Harmione stared in shock. "You look like me!" She whispered. The girl stared back. "You look like my mom!"
Harmione follows a non-mermaid back to her home, a pink castle by the shore. She stays until the girl gets out of the water. They finally meet after 13 years. (FYI, ik she's 12 in the movie, but just go with it)
Also, Mi'ne is pronounced My-Knee.Harmione sighed as she gave her morning stretch. "Well good afternoon, sleepy head," Somebody chuckled. Harmione groaned and threw her pillow at them. They laughed. "Come on, up, up. Attina's waiting for you," Harmione finally opened her eyes, glaring at her aunt. "Go away Aquata! I'm tired!"
"You shouldn't have been out so late with Adella then! UP!" The cover was yanked away roughly. Harmione glared harder. "FINE! I'm up!" She swam out of her bed and to her vanity. "Do you want me to do your hair?" Harmione sighed. "Yes please... just lose though. I have to wear the stupid crown today," She grumbled. Aquata laughed as she grabbed the brush. Harmione grabbed a brush herself but began to preen her tail. "Hey, I'm thinking of taking some of the maid's kids to the saltwater tomorrow afternoon, if you want to come? It'll be a good time to wash your tail." Aquata asked from behind Harmione's head. She nodded. "Sure, I'm up for that,"

"Ah, she lives!" Attina joked from the table. Harmione grumbled as she swam to her seat. "Yeah yeah..." She mumbled. Aquata snorted. "I'm off to train. See you later shrimp-brain," Harmione stuck her tongue out. "Well, what do you want to do today?" Attina asked. Harmione frowned. "What do you mean?" She asked. Attina laughed. "It's your birthday, silly. You're officially a teenager," Harmione grinned. "Oh yeah! I forgot!"
Attina shook her head. "How you forget your birthday is beyond me." Harmione laughed as she began to eat her dinner. "Name me something, whatever you want, it's yours," Attina continued as she sipped her drink. Harmione hesitated. "Um... I was wondering if I could visit mom's old grotto..." She stuttered. Attina frowned. "Mi'ne, you know you aren't allowed to go on your own," Harmione sighed. "Gabi said she'd go with me! And her mom already said yes. Please!" She begged.
Her mom's grotto was the only connection she held. That, and her mom's bracelet she always kept on her wrist. Attina sighed loudly. "Fine, but there are very strict rules you need to stay too, are we clear?" Harmione squealed and launched herself at her aunt. "Oh, thank you, thank you, thank you!" She cheered. Attina chuckled. "Yeah, yeah. Four rules, miss. One) Do not go any further out than Urchin's house. There are unfriendly people out there who would gladly grab you," Attina pointed to her finger. "Two) No boys! I don't want you, or Gabi, getting involved with mermen yet! You're too young. Three) Do not speak to anybody you don't know! If they try to speak to you, you leave and go to the nearest house you know," Harmione nodded. "And finally, no going on the surface."
Shame.
Harmione thought to herself as she lay beside her injured friend. The sand was warm beneath her scales. "You ok, Gabi?" She asked softly. Her life-long friend winced as she sat up straight. "Uh... yeah, I think so. God, that current was strong... I feel sick," She grumbled. Harmione snorted. "Yeah, it wasn't fun, was it?" She sighed at the feel of the waves laping gently against her fins as the sun warmed her chest. "This is the life, isn't it?" She sighed. Gabi didn't answer. "Gab?" Harmione asked. Still, no answer.
Harmione rolled her eyes. If Gabi wasn't up to answering, Harmione wasn't going to force her. Gabi roughly shook her shoulder. "Ugh, what?" Harmione snapped as she opened her eyes. "A... a human... over there," Harmione frowned as she pushed up on her arms. Her eyes fell upon a black-haired girl, sitting on a rock, sifting through some seashells. A dolphin popped up and placed another shell down. Harmione hummed softly. "Mione, don't. Leave it be," Gabi warned. Harmione sat up straight. "Well, you know what they say, Dolphins are great judges of character," She grinned.
"Mione!" Gabi hissed, but she ignored her. Harmione jumped into the water, swimming over to the rock. "Mione!! Leave it! She's a human!" her friend hissed as she caught up. Harmione pointed to the girl, swimming through the water as if it were second nature. "Look, she's about our age! Does she look harmful?" Gabi frowned in the direction of the girl. She hummed dubiously. "I dunno..."
Harmione rolled her eyes. "Well, then you stay here and keep watch. I'm gonna follow her,"
Harmione sat on the same rock the black-haired human had been on moments before. The sun had begun to set slightly, warning her of her time. She dived under the water and swam after the strange being. Harmione watched as she moved a black thing out of the way and swim through, moving it back soon after. Harmione swam up to it and watched through. The girl crawled out and crawled up onto the sand. Chatter sounded from inside a beautiful pink castle, so she chose to stay outside and watch instead. A piece of seaweed drifted by, and she slapped her tail to get rid of it.
With a gasp, the girl spun around. Harmione didn't move quick enough. "Hey, come back!" The girl called. Harmione slowly peaked up from the water. The girl waded in closer. Harmione stared in shock. "You look like me!" She whispered. The girl stared back. "You look like my mom!" She gaped. Harmione shook her head, impossible. Her mom's a mermaid back under the sea. "Oh, I'm Melody," The black-haired girl greeted, holding her hand out. Harmione hesitated slightly. "I won't hurt you, I promise,"
Harmione took her hand. "I'm Harmione," Melody gasped. "That's such a pretty name!" Harmione smiled. "I like your name as well, Melody!"
Harmione sang softly to herself as she swam back to her home. The moon had just set when she made the journey back. Gabi had long gone home, feeling ill from the current earlier in the day. Harmione swam into her room, settling under her covers softly. She turned over, just as somebody tore into her room. "Oh, she's here, Aquata," Harmione closed her eyes quickly. "See, I told you! She's a good girl," She heard her aunt reassure. "Yeah... phew, she took like ten years off me then,"
Harmione smiled at Aquata's laughter.
