Harmione groaned loudly as her aunt began to swim away. "I thought you were supposed to be my friend!" She whined. "I am! That's why I'm dragging your sorry behind back to Attina!" She hissed.
Before Harmione gets to know Melody better, Aquata drags her back to save her from getting obliterated by her aunt. While she is roaming around, singing to herself, she bumps into her mom again, but she still doesn't know Ariel's mother... neither does she tell her.
*bit of an odd POV change in the middle... Sos*Harmione hummed softly to herself as she swam away from Melody. There was something about that girl that felt like... home. Like she'd known her, her entire life. She rounded a large rock, sighing softly as the palace glittered brightly. "Harmione!" She squeaked as somebody dragged her down by her fin. "Ow! Aquata! What the kolasi!?" She snapped, grabbing the tender fin in her hand. "Uh, really?" Her blue-finned aunt asked, putting her hands on her hips. "Forgive me if I'm wrong, but why were you up on the surface a minute ago?" Harmione's eyes widened. "How did you know that?" She asked. Aquata rolled her eyes. "You're the only one in the whole kingdom with bright red hair, it's not hard to spot you," She said, sighing. Harmione groaned loudly as her aunt began to swim away. "I thought you were supposed to be my friend!" She whined. "I am! That's why I'm dragging your sorry behind back to Attina!" She hissed.
Later at the palace, as predicted, Attina beached Harmione for going to the surface, thank you very much Aquata! She grumbled. She managed to talk her aunt into letting her roam about the palace grounds with Gabi, but that was it. She spun in a dramatic circle in the courtyard, giggling as a seahorse swum through her hair.
"Oof! Careful!" Somebody chastised. Harmione blushed and turned to apologise. "Oh! Um... hi... mom?" She said to the redheaded Queen. "Don't bother, I know you're not Melody," The woman sighed. Harmione sighed as well. "Good. I have no idea who she is," For a split second, Harmione thought she saw tears in the woman's eyes, but it must be the water. "Wait, how do you have a tail? You're a human queen," She swam around the green-finned woman, examining her. "Oh, it's a long story. Listen, do you know where the King is? I desperately need to speak to him," The redheaded woman asked, looking over Harmione's head. She bristled slightly. "I need to know your name for that. I'm not letting just anyone speak to my grandad,"
The woman narrowed her eyes slightly. "Ariel," She said. Harmione nodded. "Ok, Ariel. I'll take you. He'll probably be with my aunt though as well, her name is Attina," She led Ariel towards the throne room. "It's just through those doors. If you knock somebody will-eep!" She squeaked when somebody pulled her away. "Aquata! Will you stop doing that!" She hissed at her aunt. "I'm under strict orders from Attina to beach you if you're with anybody but Gabi. Come on! Off!" She smacked her upside the head. Harmione glared venomously. "You're no longer my favourite." She hissed. Aquata shrugged with her left shoulder. "I'll live. Go," Harmione rolled her eyes.
"Good luck Ariel!" She called, before sticking her tongue out at Aquata and swimming off.
(btw, I'm sorry about this strange pov here. Just roll with it)
Melody Ariel Harmione
Melody grinned as she swam around, singing to herself.
Okay, get a grip
Get the hang of this flipper,
It's like slipping two feet into one big, huge slipper
This way is left, but which way is right
Oh, now I'll be circling in circles all night
Oh, so this is forward, no problem
I can't believe I can do this and more
To swim in the sea, like I walk on the shore
Out of my shell, not closed up like a clam
Look out sea, this is me, here I am
For a moment, all of me is alive and at home in the sea
I'm swirling and twirling so graceful and grand
Not stubbing my toes, getting stuck in the sand
For a moment, life is cool
I'll splash in the world's biggest pool
This is more than my thoughts ever thought it could be
For a moment, just a moment
Lucky meShe giggled atop the whale, sighing as her red tail reflected the sun's rays. How anybody could resist this...
Ariel clutched the sea flower tightly to her chest. Not only had Melody ran away, but she had yet to see Harmione... she sighed. She knew Harmione was in the palace, but... she couldn't face going.
If only for one moment, I had shared with you all I know
The sea wouldn't be a mystery
Oh why did you have to go?Melody spun in a circle, pulling at her red fins. She grinned, uncontrollable giggles erupting from her mouth.
Everything's newer, brighter and bluer
And truer to life than before
Watch me soar
For a moment, I can shine
Get a grin and a fin that works fine
My fingers are wrinkly
I really don't care,
If all of my curls have curled out of my hair
For a moment, I can feel
All the dreams I'd been dreaming are real
Wish my mother could hear it, the sea is my song
For a moment, just a moment, I belongHarmione sighed as she picked a pink sea flower from the bedroom window. Despite Aquata saving her behind, Attina had still grounded her for going to the surface. A mermaid in the courtyard began playing her kithara. Harmione hummed to the strums, lyrics forming as she spoke.
Been stuck in this room for longer than life,
I wanna see the sunrise.
Day and night pass like a breeze.
Oh, wait, what's that? A breeze?
Singing and dancing on my own,
The sun burns my feet, but I don't care.
I'd swap my fins just for a moment back up there.Harmione placed her cheek on her hand, sighing loudly. She wanted her legs back...
Ariel's heart felt like it was breaking in two. In the distance, she could see the trademark hair of her daughter in her old bedroom, sat in the very same window Ariel herself had sat in nearly 15 years ago. At least she knew where one of them was.
I will find you, my darling
And the moment that I do
I'll hold you close, my babies
And sing the song of the sea with you
Sing the song of the sea with you
(For a moment, just a moment I belong)"Harmione honey? Attina wants you," She glanced over to Arista in the doorway. "Ok. Is she in the throne room?" Her pregnant aunt nodded before swimming off slowly. Harmione sighed softly as she swam down to the throne room. The redheaded woman was there as well, tears running down her face. "Arista said you called for me?" She asked, entering. "Yes," Attina sighed. "Ariel here has lost her daughter, Melody. And I know you've seen her and spoken to her before," Harmione shook her head. "Don't even try. Gabi's told me,"
Harmione ground her teeth. "So much for besties and secrets,"
"Not the point. We need you to help Ariel find her daughter. I trust her enough for you to go without the palace guard. Don't break it," Harmione grinned. "Yes! Finally! An adventure!" She giggled as she swam out of the room. "Oh, just quick," She poked her head back round. "Yes?"
"Do I need to bring anything?" She asked. "Maybe a snack if you get hungry, and the defending knife I gave you. But that's it. You'll be back here to sleep tonight I suspect," Attina nodded. "Oki Doki! See you in a few!"
She swam back around the corner but paused. Ariel was speaking to Attina in hushed tones. "I'm gonna tell her Attina, I have to. It's been long enough, and I can't find Melly without her help,"
Tell me what? She thought. "Plus, Eric and I have already spoken about it. She ended up in the castle the other day, god only knows how, and we said then if we see her again, we'll tell her the truth," Harmione narrowed her eyes. What did Ariel and this... Eric have to tell her? She nodded to Sebastian the crab as he swam through frantically. "Your majesties, I have good and bad news!" He cried. Harmione giggled softly. Sebastian... ever the dramatic. "Melody was sighted and the trident is missing!"
Harmione gasped. The trident was missing? And Melody was spotted? The two had to be connected. She edged back around the doorway. "Come on, let's go. We need to get my grandad's trident back now,"
