"Where is it ? Where is- found it!"
I said as soon as I found this book. "The color of magic" by Terry Pratchett. A beautiful book I started reading a few days ago. I spend all my time at the library reading books, since it's the only thing I can do. Ain't got no house. Ain't got no fambly. The only thing I have is my eighteen years of living, and this library. The owner let me read here since I was a kiddo and in exchange I had to clean at night. Reading became a part of my life. I almost read all of the books in here even those considered as bloody. I love to read, I don't even know how I knew how to, in fact I just think the earth gave me this present so I can have a reason to live."You can't map a sense of humor. Anyway, what is a fantasy map but a space beyond which There Be Dragons? On the Discworld we know that There Be Dragons Everywhere. They might not all have scales and forked tongues, but they Be Here all right, grinning and jostling and trying to sell you souvenirs."
Terry Pratchett, The Color of Magic"What a book!" I said. It was almost midnight. Ain't never been up at this hour, but I don't want no sleep right now. I started reading while walking around the library.
"Sometimes I think a man could wander across the disc all his life and not see everything there is to see,' said Twoflower. 'And now it seems there are lots of other worlds as well. When I think I might die without seeing a hundredth of all there is to see it makes me feel,' he paused, then added, 'well, humble, I suppose. And very angry, of course."
Terry Pratchett, The Color of MagicAs I was walking around I saw a place ain't seen anytime in this library.
"New books" I guessed. I tried to pull out one. There wasn't no thing written on and in this book.
"What kind of bloody hell is this?"
I take a quick look at the book wall. I looked at where I pull out this one, I could see something behind it. I started pulling out all of the books. It ain't got no problems since I'm the one cleaning. I pulled out and pulled out, books and books, more and more. Now I had a door in front of me. A yellow door, or some could define this color as golden. But you could clearly see this was made of wood.
"Why in the world a door would be here?" I was astonished. Did everyone hid this from me or did no one knew? I was confused... but... curious. I knocked at the door. No response. I tried to look into the locker. Nothing.
I grabbed the door handle and opened the wooden entrance in front of me. An explosion of glitters came into my face. Light and sparkles everywhere. Everything was so beautiful...
I took a bit of time to take off the glitters on my face, rubbing my eyes so much I started to see some patterns form. As I open my eyes I could see a tall figure in front of me.
"Hello! How did you get there?"
I heard from a voice, clearly coming from that silhouette. I opened my eyes slowly to see, as I thought by hearing that voice, a man. He was very tall, maybe a bit less than 6ft, with long legs and beautiful purple hair so healthy that they reflected the light around us.
"I don't know...Where am I?" I said still confused by what had just happened.
"Ohh... so you must come from the human world..." the man said looking at the door open behind me.
"Human world? What do you mean by human world and- may I ask who are you?"
"Oh! I'm Doryarus!" He had a smile on his face.
"Nice to meet you..." he said waiting for me to answer by my name.
"Lana" i said still confused and a bit skeptical.
"What a name!"
"What's with my name?"
"Ain't got nothing wrong, no worries. Now explain to me what are you doing here and how did you get in."
"Well, don't know... I just bumped into that door and it made me came here and-." I interrupted myself " You still haven't answered to my question, what do you mean by human world?"
"Well! you are here in Eaglarath"
"Eagla- wait so this isn't the "human world"?"
"You are on earth, it's just the part of the earth your people don't know about. So I guess we're close to the human world but not quite."I started to look around me. There were flowers and sparkles everywhere. And it was intensely bright, the sky was even brighter.
"Is it kind of like heaven?" Doryarus laughed after hearing this.
"I've read that word in your books but what is even that thing you call heaven?"
"Well I don't really know but I guess it ain't there... wait so that means you ain't got any gods in here?" I questioned. Doryarus looked down on me to see the book I had in my arms.
"Oh you are reading The Color Of Magic,
A great book actually." I noticed his tendency to avoid answering questions.
"Oh so you read?" I said sighing.
"Of course I told you I've read about heaven. So you think we don't got any gods?"
"I mean you ain't got no heaven so..."
"Well, everyone has gods. You just don't think they're gods, or you do. At the end of the day you choose the god you want to believe in and what comes with it."
"I will take this as an answer."
"Do you want to see something even better than gods?"
"Hum... i don't know..."
"Let me help you visit Eaglarath!" He said while jumping around.
"I would've loved to visit here, but I have work to do and I don't know how long I can stay in this place." I looked back to take the door and return to where I'm from but the door apparently disappeared.
"Where's the door?" I panicked.
"What door?" Doryarus said with a smirk on his face.
"The- can you explain to me what's going on?"
"Let's go?" He smiled and gave his hand.
"What? I want to go back home."
"Follow me then."
He was standing still. I didn't know why but I felt like I could trust him, at least in that moment. I grabbed his hand and hoped that I would get answers.
