Doryarus pulled me everywhere and we were jumping and running on this thing that ressembles grass. In the sky we could see enormous creatures flying. They were looking like pterodactyls, one was as long as a Quetzalcoatlus northropi.
"Do you know dinosaurs?" I asked Doryarus while running.
"Read about them, why?"
"Your flying things look like them"
"Oh you think?"
"Yes a lot."
"Yeah they're very similar, but with one big difference."
"That they're alive?" We both laughed.
"But not only... I got to explain this to you later."It's been like bloody hours that we've been running and I do not feel any kind of tiredness. We stopped for a few minutes and I got to look around and admire the beautiful flora.
"How we ain't tired at all after running like this?"
"Tired?" Doryarus looked at me confused.
"Yeah you know when you're exhausted?"
"Exhau- what?" He was really confused.
"Oh... you've never wanted to sleep?"
"Sleep?... oh the thing humans do right?"
"Yeah we... we do this yeah"
"I know what you mean but usually humans sleep at what you call "night""
"Yeah but you're never tired?"
"No. There isn't any night in here."
"Yeah but tiredness doesn't always come at night"
"Oh... well I've never felt that way"
"That's maybe why I don't"
"But... could you describe to me what it... feels like?"
I never thought in my life I would've to explain what sleeping was to someone else, it's making everything a bit more interesting.
"Well... your eyes feel heavier, you want to close them as fast as possible. Your muscles are weak and you want to lay down. As an owl but in the light, as a bat but in the dark. Then we have this thing we call-"
"BED A BED!"
"Yes a bed, and we use it to lay down and close our eyes and then we're not moving for hours"
"Hours?"
"Yes. Hours."
"That's incredible! I kinda want to feel that too..."
"Oh well maybe you'll like it but obviously you can't since you here ain't got no sleep right?"
"No we don't."
I was very shocked that they do not sleep but I mean... I found a door in library that leads to another world, I guess not being tired is the last thing on the shocking list. Doryarus and I continued the road while looking around."Here we are ma'am!"
I looked in front of me to see a gigantic building, much bigger than a Quetzalcoatlus northropi for sure. It was made out of small grey stone bricks and it was going up spinning. The whole infrastructure looked like a tornado.
"How do we enter?" I wondered loudly.
"We fly."
"We wha-"
Before I could finish my sentence my feet weren't on the the grass anymore.
"What in the bloody world is this..." I was literally flying. I never flew that high... I NEVER FLEW ACTUALLY.
"Don't stress my lady you're not going to fall."
I tried to manage this new ability I never knew I would have. I got to the point where I could direct my body slowly from left to right. Doryarus made sign for me to follow him.
The building was very high so it took a while to go where Doryarus wanted. But we actually did. The entry we had to take was like a big hole, like a cave, you really should be careful if you don't want to fall. When we lended, I could feel my body getting sparkles all inside. I looked around and the whole building was actually a library. In front of me thousands... no... millions... no .... Billions of books were aligned like I've never seen before. How could this even be possible. There were books everywhere, on the floor, on the walls, chairs and tables were books, everything I got to touch was a book.
"How do you have so many books! Is it even possible to have this bloody amount of books in the same place!"
Haechan looked at me with a smile.
"Well how do you think I understand what you said during all this time." He sat on a... bookchair? And crossed his arms.
"Sit. I'm going to tell you all about those books. But you need to promise me that you'll never tell anyone about this place and those books."
"I promise." I didn't even hesitate I was confident enough to trust myself."Well here are all the books of the entire universe. From human world to Eaglarath, from Neverland to Wonderland. And all of those books are written in their native languages."
"Have you read all of them?"
"No."
"I was sure that's imp-"
"I've read more than that."
"But- if these are all the books in the world, that means there cannot be more isn't it?"
"Well... some of them have been destroyed, some others disappeared, some others aren't even real."
"But how? A book cannot... disappear or not existing."
"You are reading The Color Of Magic right?"
"Yes..."
"Well it's all about magic, since magic never die, books either. They just merely fade away."
"So those books faded away?"
"If we can say it like this yes they did."
"Are you kind of a guardian?"
"Yeah kind of." Doryarus laughed. "Have you read Fahrenheit 451?"
"Yes of course."
"Then I'm kinda like Granger."
"Oh i see. But I don't think it is forbidden to read in Eaglarath, am I wrong?"
"No you ain't, but people don't care about reading in here. I mean, Eaglarathians do read but sadly not a lot."
"Oh in earth too... the library where I work is often empty and people find it boring to read."
"In The Color Of Magic there's a line:"I've seen excitement, and I've seen boredom. And boredom was best.""
"But It's a comical book."
"Yeah but more of a comical book it gives also a lot of perspective to see the earth in a different way. Pratchett was using our world to talk about yours."
"Yeah I think it was the purpose of the book actually."
We continued talking about books and Doryarus explained to me how some people wanted to destroy books and how it was seen as a bad thing to even borrow one from the library. So many heartbreaking stories about people avoiding books. Our conversation was broken as soon as we heard a door from far away.
"Hide! Right now" Doryarus screamed.
"What is this..."
