After filling Reese in with the details, Gabby invited her to stay for dinner. Reese happily accepted the invitation. At dinner, Gabby enjoyed her one allotted glass of wine and Reese gladly polished off the rest of the bottle.

The conversation had flowed so well at dinner, afterward Reese and Gabby had tea in the living room and continued their conversation.

"Sorry," Reese said, "it's just that we're getting along so well I had to tell you. I hope it doesn't change anything. Jason didn't want me and the kiss really meant nothing for me."

Gabby laughed. "It's fine, Reese."

"Really?"

"Really," Gabby assured. "Now if you'll excuse me, I need to use the restroom." Gabby got up and left the living room.

Gabby hadn't been gone long when the phone rang. Reese stood up and walked over to the phone. She recognized the area code on the caller ID was from Denver and got excited. She waited to see if Gabby was going to answer, and after three rings went by Reese couldn't help herself and she picked up the phone. "Trovato residence."

"Gabby?"

"No, she can't come to the phone. This isn't Jason. Who is this? Ross?"

"Yeah, who is this?"

"Reese. Reese Taylor."

"Oh, where's Gabby?"

"She's, uh, indisposed."

"Oh. Well, I just stepped away from Jason for a bit. On a beer run. Thought I'd call and check in."

"How's he doing?"

"He's pretty messed up."

"Oh, that sucks. You know Gabby just made a mistake. I know it really hurt Jason, but I think he needs to forgive her."

"Yeah, I agree."

"You do?"

"Yeah. Jason's my friend. I just want what's best for him and I think Gabby and this baby are what's best."

"So, Ross, you seem really nice and sound really cute. Are you cute?"

"I don't turn all of the heads but definitely turn some. I'd say it's about fifty-fifty."

"Only fifty-fifty?"

"Okay, you got me. I try not to be conceited. Eighty-Twenty."

"And funny too."

"You got me."

"I hope so."

Ross laughed. "Well, I've got to go, but I've enjoyed our conversation. Next time you're feeling lonely, why don't you give me a call?"

"I might just do that, Ross. I've got your number on the caller ID."

"Perfect. Tell Gabby I'll get back to her later."

"Will do. Bye."

"Bye, Reese. Reese Taylor."

Reese hung up the phone and smiled, then got her cell phone out and typed Ross' number into it. Gabby came out of the hallway and went straight for the phone. Reese stopped her. "I hope you don't mind but I answered the phone. It was Ross. He said he'd call you later."
