- Ei...
Sara felt tears stinging her eyes. Raiden glared at Ei and said:
- Ei. At least tell her why. She doesn't know.
- Ha! Yeah right. But fine, if she's going to act so innocent, then I'll tell you. You kissed Miko on the cheek when you delivered that scroll. You love someone else, and yet you dare say that you love me.
Ei scoffed. Sara knitted her eyebrows.
- I never did that! In fact, it was the opposite!
Ei widened her eyes.
- You dare say that my closest friend is lying?!
Thunder rumbled above the skies of Euthymia, lightning flashed, and the ground shook even more.
- How could I ever have loved a person like you?!
Ei growled. Raiden embraced Sara as she broke into tears.
- You are blind, foolish, and ignorant, Ei. If you don't believe her, see for yourself.
With a wave of Raiden's hand, a scene appeared (just pretend she can do that in Euthymia). Sara was delivering the letter, Miko and Sara had a talk, and Miko kissed Sara on the cheek.
- What? Then...Miko lied to me...?
- That's what Sara has been trying to tell you from the start!
Raiden rolled her eyes. Ei had everything wrong. Ei tried to approach Sara, but Sara only backed away.
- Don't.
Sara said, still in Raiden's embrace.
- Sara, please, I'm so-
- Don't!
Sara lashed out at Ei. Her eyes were full of disappointment and anger. A tear rolled down Ei's cheek.
- I'm going.
Sara stood up and left the Plane of Euthymia.
- See now what you have done?
Raiden asked. Raiden then also proceeded to leave Euthymia, leaving Ei in despair and grief. She fell to her knees, and stared into the nothingness around Euthymia.
Raiden was trying to catch up to Sara as she ran furiously outside of Tenshukaku. Finally, she caught up and grabbed Sara from behind.
- Let go of me, Ei!
Sara squirmed in Raiden's grip.
- No, it's me, Raiden.
Sara stopped struggling. She turned around and hugged Raiden tight.
- How could Ei be like this?
She whispered. Raiden ran her fingers through Sara's hair and placed a kiss on Sara's forehead.
- I suggest you give her a chance. She just doesn't know who to trust, and how to love, that's all.
- You think I should?
- Yes, my beloved General.
Sara agreed to give Ei a second chance, so they went back to the Plane of Euthymia. Inside was Ei, bent over and sobbing.
- Ei..
Sara placed a hand on Ei's shoulder. Ei looked up and even more tears rolled down her cheeks.
- Sara! Please, hear me out! I'm really sor-
Sara bent down and kissed Ei, taking her by surprise. After a while, Sara broke the kiss.
- I forgive you.
Ei flew her arms around Sara's neck and sobbed in her shoulder. Ei then sniffed away her final tears, and asked:
- Why did you forgive me? If I remember correctly then you were super mad at me moments ago.
- You should thank Raiden for that.
- Raiden?
- Yes, she's the one who told me to give you a second chance.
Ei released Sara and approached Raiden.
- Thank you. If I lost her, I would've killed myself. I owe you my life.
Ei said, and Raiden nodded approvingly.
- Now, I have some business to attend to.
Suddenly, a boom sounded from the sky. That must be Ei's mood.
- What business?
Sara asked. Ei smiled, and held Sara's hand.
- Come with me and you will know.
Ei then proceeds to drag Sara to the Grand Narukami Shrine.
- Yae Miko.
Ei said coldly.
- Why are you calling me by my full name? And moreover, why are you holding that scumbag's hand?!
Miko asked, snarling at Sara like she poisoned Ei.
- Don't, call the love of my life a scumbag. It's you who is the scumbag.
Ei's eyes glowed for a brief second.
- What did I do?
Miko asked, a tinge of nervousness in her tone.
- You know what you did. You should be executed for this, but since you are immortal, I won't be able to kill you anyway. Let's go. I will decide your punishment afterwards.
Ei turned around and the two went back to Tenshukaku.
- Ei, what punishment are you planning to give Miko?
- Let's worry about that later.
Ei pulled Sara closer to her and kissed her.
- Sara, you will still be staying in Tenshukaku with me and Raiden, right?
- Yes, of course. But I still have to go patrol and practice.
Ei knew that if she asked Sara to not go and stay with her, Sara would agree without any hesitation. But that would be selfish. Ei couldn't have the General of the Kujou Clan all to herself.
- Oh, alright then. I don't mind.
Ei smiled. She spotted something dangling on Sara's neck.
- What's that?
Ei pointed to her neck, and Sara looked down.
- Oh this? It's a necklace that Raiden gave me as a present.
- It looks gorgeous on you.
Sara blushed. Ei tucked a strand of hair behind Sara's ear, and then suddenly, a guard walked in.
- Your Excellency! Something req- erm...I will come back later...
The guard bowed and left within an instant. The two laughed at the guard's change of behaviour.
- Ei, what time is it?
- 5 PM, why?
- Oh shoot! I'm late for patrol! Please excuse me, I have to go!
Sara ran out of Tenshukaku and disappeared out of Ei's sight. Ei sighed sadly and went inside her room. She took out a book and read on her bed for about an hour just shifting and her eyes glued to the book. That was until the same guard barged in.
- What-
- Your Excellency! I'm sorry to barge in like that but something needs your immediate attention!
