School has just finished and as soon as that bell rung, you were rushing out of that room and to your locker as fast as you could. The weekend was here and you wanted nothing better than to go home and not speak to anyone or have anyone tease you.

It sucks. It's horrid. It's absolute humiliation. It was all because of them. They walked all over you, the girls, the boys, saying mean even more horrible things than before. You knew that giving them the satisfaction of running away from it will only make things worst, so you became immune to their insults, well until this little run-in...

Down on the floor you went. Your face hit the pavement really hard and you didn't know what had happened until then. You heard laughing from behind and immediately collected yourself to get up. Stuff was everywhere, books, papers. You felt sick.

The people laughed. "Oy, watch your step there, yeah?" The pale one scoffed. The two others laughed even more. "She has that lazy eye, Bri, she couldn't have!"

Humiliation was the only thing worst than pain...and it was burning you alive. The redness was going to your cheeks and it just made them laugh even more. "Look at that now, she's actually turning red!"

You got up, after frantically picking up all of your papers, not wanting to hear any of it. You didn't look at them in the eye, instead you shoved passed them, clutching your binder to your chest to somehow control the pounding of your heart.

"God, what a joke!" You heard them say behind your back. You bit your lip and tried stopping a tear escaping from your eye.

"No wonder why her mum left."

You stopped dead in your tracks.

It was numb at first, but then hatred started coursing through you, and it wasn't stopping. It was like a raging fire .

There was some laughter followed by some whistles. "I think she heard you Bri." He laughed and nudged the boy to his chest, swaggering forth with a cockiness. "So what then, short-cakes, mum didn't fancy working at the streets here?"

Julian heard everything. He was leaning against the wall with a cigarette in between his lips. Once he heard the smack on the ground he turned his head. He saw that you quickly picked up your books, despite the redness on your cheeks. He heard the first boy tell you to watch your step making him turn his whole body towards the direction. He watched intently, taking one last drag of his ciggie and flicking it to the ground to step on. His arms folded as he squinted his eyes from the afternoon sun.

The adrenaline was back, and it was raging through you. You turned around to face him.

"Take. That. Back." You say through gritted teeth. How dare they speak of your mum. They didn't know a thing.

They only started laughing more, amused and maybe even surprised that you actually said something.

"No." The cocky one said lightheartedly giving off a sarcastic smile.

Two steps closer now.

"Fucking take that back." You say, eyes targeted on him.

"No! Goddamn -"

Before he could finish his sentence, your right fist had already made contact with his nose. He stumbled back, looking lost and bewildered. His two friends, just as shocked as him, started asking if he was all right-he kept pushing them away in anger.
