The first book that I'm gonna be sharing is: Brave, Not Perfect by Reshma Saujani.
This book tackle about women who are too perfectionist of themselves which could have been influenced by different factors that surrounds or surrounded them--and which could have been instilled by their family, friends or peers. Several studies were shown as well in this book as samples of what the topic truthfully points out.
I am versatile, but I am picky as well when choosing a book. Nonetheless, after searching almost 60% of the books in Book Sales, Robinsons, I was finally able to pick this book among those I have chosen since the title of it was indeed interesting to me. Well, yeah, I chose this because I started to sense that I am becoming, or have always been, a perfectionist. I resonated with what I thought the title was trying to convey which was: you don't have to be perfect, you just have to be brave.
If you are reluctant to admit that you are a perfectionist, this book is for you. On the other hand, if you are already aware that you are a perfectionist and you want to let go of your perfectionist instinct, this book is also for you.
Anyhow, these are the reasons why I like this book. These are the realizations that slapped me:
(1) It's never your fault.
As this book explains where your perfectionist instinct originate from, it will make you realize that it didn't came out of you--you gradually instilled that perfectionist instinct of yours by the influence of the people around you that cocooned you from the real world.
(2) Everything makes sense.
Along with the explanation, there are also these certain information that backed up the book's claims regarding perfectionist instinct. These are the samples that will make you think and you can rely on.
(3) I resonate with it.
With its provided resources of information, you will then soon find yourself relating to the claims of the book and by the experiences of other women.
(4) You are not alone.
If you know yourself that you are a perfectionist, you will feel understood and appreciated by this book as the author herself is a perfectionist.
(5) It's not too late.
You can let go of your perfectionist instinct by complying with the tips that the author has provided. If you were to exercise it, then eventually you will learn to be brave to not raise you perfectionism anymore.
That is all that I can share, a brief detail about the book. Because if I were to proceed furthermore, I might spoil you and not read the book yourself.
I hope you appreciate this review of mine.
Thank you for reading!!
