Ari's POV

As soon as I got home I texted her. Damm, my flirting must be getting real bad with age, I didn't even get a name. I took a look at the card she gave me and read: 'Captain Hailey Quinn'. The name suits her.

Ari:

Hello Captain

Hailey:

What did I say, Lieutenant ? Get some rest !

Ari:

You can call me Ari.

I told you my name but I never got yours ?

Hailey:

That's because I'm working with you.

I told you, it's Captain.

And I also remember telling you this number was exclusively for work.

Ari:

I do have a question about work.

Hailey:

I might have an answer then.

Ari:

What time are we meeting tomorrow ?

Hailey:

8 am at the possible crime site.

Don't be late !

Ari:

It's a date.

And I'm never late.

Well, not on purpose.

Hailey:

I don't think anyone is usually late on purpose.

And it's not a date.

We're working.

Ari:

You're working.

I'm just there to help.

Hailey:

Then be helpful and get some rest.

I need a working firefighter tomorrow and I don't need a distracting firefighter right now.

Ari:

Got it.

Have a nice shift sweetheart.

I decided right after that to take a hot shower to relax my muscles and get some sleep. These 24 hours shifts really mess with my sleep schedule.

Hailey's POV

Once I finish my conversation with Ari, I go back to work. First thing with a possible arson case would be to confirm it but I need a well rested firefighter for it, I don't need a jury discrediting a crime scene because of an unreliable expert. So I move forward to the next step: read through the files of all the firefighters who responded to that call. Unfortunately it wouldn't be the first time a firefighter with a hero complex sets a fire just so he can be the one to put it out.
