Alec's P. O. V.
I felt Raven's anxiety as I trotted along the pack border. I just needed her to catch a landmark or something so I could see where she was. I soon felt a pressure on my neck. I growled and snarled, they were choking her. It didn't last long but I felt a little prick on my neck and it was gone, Raven's presence, everything. I slashed my paw out at a tree, creating a six inch deep gash in the tree. I paced the border, my teeth barred. The wild life in the area was gone. They had ran in fear of the pissed off wolf nearby. A twig snapped behind me and I spun around, snarling and ready to take a bite out of something.
My father stood before me. I forced my head down in submission.
"Shift, son." he ordered. My wolf retreated back to my body and I stood up.
"Hey dad." I said.
"Why come to the border?" he asked.
"I can't be in the house. Her scent hangs in here, it clings to our bed, her clothes, even the walls." I said.
"Son, you need to keep a level head."
"I'm trying dad! You don't know how hard this is for me! She was scared of him and now she's locked in a room with him! I'm not there to protect her! What kind of mate does that?! What if it was mom?!" I yelled. I heard a whimper and a growl as my father turned around and my mother came rushing out of the shadows into my father's arms. My stomach clenched at the sight and I wished I could wrap my arms around Raven. She needed me now more than ever and I was just standing here doing jackshit.
I had always prayed to have same strong relationship with my mate that my parents had. My mother couldn't go anywhere without my father being close behind. She protected the children during the battles that my father fought. My mother had told me that that's what Raven had been doing when she was shot. I looked at the ground, closing my eyes tightly.
"We'll get her back son." I shook with anger and saddness.
"And Cameron won't live once I do." I was ready to find her, I wanted blood. I stared at the ground, my thoughts bouncing. I opened my eyes and looked at my mother and father.
"I want to show you guys something." I said. They began walking close behind me as I walked back toward the house, asking me questions. We finally made it back to the house and I opened the door for my parents. They followed me to my office.
"As the former Alpha and Luna of this pack and my parents, I belive that you should see this." I said as I spun my computer around and pressed the space bar. Cameron started to talk again and then I heard Raven scream as the wolfsbane entered her body. I flinched and my mother covered her mouth.
"Oh poor child." she said. My father's jaw almost hit the ground. I pressed the space bar again and turned my computer around. I sat down and stared at the screen.
"We have Charles and Jake working on a trace, but the signal from the video makes it difficult." I said.
"How long since the video arrived? Mom asked.
"A week, maybe." I said, standing up. "I'm gonna go see how things are going."
"Alec, when was the last time you ate?" Mom said. I walked pass her.
"Alec, answer your mother." My father growled. It was like I was a child all over again.
"This morning." I lied. I wasn't hungry. I walked to Charles' house. Knocking on the door, I listened inside. There was a loud humming noise and I knocked louder. Charles opened the door in sweatpants. A blast of cold air hit me.
