"Will, what do you want to eat?" Joyce calls out to her son.
Will perks up at the mention of food, scrambling out of his desk, leaving his drawing behind. He finally reaches his mother in the kitchen with one food on his mind, pizza.
"Uh, mom, do you think we could order pizza?" Will asks with pleading eyes.
Joyce ponders for a moment before giving Will a smirk, "Well I suppose it is Friday..."
Will's eyes light up as he gives his mother a bright look, "Yes! Thank you mom!"
He gives her a hug and a chaste kiss on her cheek, "I'll order it, what kind do you want? Maybe we should get pepperoni? Or sausage? Or the oddly good kind with the green peppers?"
Joyce laughs out, slightly overwhelmed by the toppings her son is spewing out.
"It's up to you honey, just nothing with olives, Jonathan hates black olives."
"What about green olives?" Will teases.
Joyce scrunches up her nose, "On pizza?"
"I'm just joking mom," Will laughs, "Is just plain sausage fine?"
She smiles sweetly at her son, "As long as that's what you want, I think it's perfect."
Will grins at his mom one last time before stumbling as he rushed his way to the house phone.
Truthfully told, Will didn't even like pizza that much. It was just exciting because they weren't allowed to order food out often, the Byers weren't exactly on the wealthy side.
So, pizza was his go to since it got delivered, fast might he add. Plus, it was different, they never ate it unless they ordered it.
Will quickly dialed the pizza place, after the third ring, someone picked up.
"Thanks for calling the Pizza Palace, how may I help you?" A female voice answered.
"Um- Hi, could I get a large sausage pizza?"
"Yeah, that'll be $5.35, is that for pickup or delivery?" She asks.
"Delivery." Will smiles.
"Okay then, do we have an address?"
Will chuckles awkwardly, "Oh sorry, yes, ________"
"Great, your pizza will be there in under ten minutes, can I have a name for the order?"
"Will, Byers." He states
"Okay, Will, have a good evening, thanks for calling."
"You too."
The ending tone sounds and Will places the phone back on its holder.
"I ordered it mom, they said it's going to be ten minutes!" Will yells.
"That's good!" She shouts back with an obvious chuckle.
Will smiles at his mother, she was really the best there was. He decided to wait out the time by returning to his room to draw.
He took his usual seat at his desk and looked at the paper in front of him. It was blank, he could've sworn he'd drawn something before his mom called him.
Maybe he was still brainstorming.
Will then began to think of what to do, but that's when he realized that art block hit.
"Ugh..." Will groans, leaning back in his chair as he furrowed his eyebrows.
He figured if he scribbled he'd find...something, anything to draw.
