♧ Prologue: Act II [For A Tomorrow Without Tears] (Part 1)

The sun rose as sounds of birds chirping could be heard. A new day has started, which also meant Lumine and Paimon's second day in Mondstadt. In a simple restaurant, we could see our protagonist trio eating their breakfast as they start their new day. They were sitting on one of the tables, happily munching on their foods, except for a certain floating emergency food. "Even when Paimon's eating pancakes, Paimon could still remember how those deadly cookies tasted..." Paimon grumbled, stabbing her food with her fork and putting the food in her mouth.

Lumine, who was munching on a satisfying salad, turned her head toward her companion. "Why's that...?" She asked, still with her broken Teyvat language, but she's still trying to learn it, thanks to Paimon and Taufan. The pixie looked her way with a deadpanned look, pointing at a certain way using her thumb. "That." She answered briefly, with a deadpan voice too. The traveler looked at the way she pointed at and saw a certain wind elemental, munching happily on his deadly cookies.

"Oh..." Lumine could feel shivers just seeing how Taufan enjoyed eating those abomination, so that's what been bothering Paimon. Felt like he was being watched, Taufan stopped his eating session and looked at the two girls who were staring at him intensively. "What...?" Taufan asked, with the 'ehe' smile. The two looked at eachother and looked back at the said boy with a deadpan look. "Paimon's still don't understand why have you not fainted from too much food poisoning." Paimon stated, showing disgust at those venomous cookies, followed by Lumine who nod rappidly. "Oh come on, it's not that bad!" Taufan said, defending his precious cookies from the two deadpanned girls.

As the three were walking around Mondstadt City, they found Jean talking with a masked woman, seemed sus. "Isn't that Jean? Seems she's talking to someone. Let's let her finish, then go say hi?" Paimon asked, which Lumine returned with a nod. But the same didn't go with Taufan. Taufan quietly hid on a bush, so that he wouldn't be caught by them. "Psstt, what are you doing...! You're going to get caught...!" Paimon whispered loudly so she could be heard by the wind boy.

Taufan shushed her, his index finger on his mouth as he eavesdropped their conversation. "...which is what has brought us to this point in the first place." The masked woman said, then continued. "If you're unable to promptly deal with the Stormterror threat, then leave the defense of Mondstadt to the Fatui." "We can put an end to Mondstadt's dragon issues, all we need to do is bring that monster to the--" Jean crossed her arms, looking at the Fatui woman disappointedly. "Monster?" The Acting Grandmaster lift an eyebrow, which earned an answer by the woman. "Yes, what's the point?" The woman put her hands to her hips, taunting.

When the wind elemental tried to eavesdropped even more, he was stopped when he felt someone pulling his hair. "Ow.. ow... ow..! Hey, stop it...!" Paimon kept pulling his hair, not hearing the poor boy's pleading. "No! You're going to get us caught!" The pixie yelled, pulling the strand of brown hair more. "Ow... you're going to get us caught...!" Taufan yelled back, but with a soft tone unlike a certain emergency food. "Um... guys...?" The two ignored Lumine's words as they continued bickering, completely forgetting about the woman behind them.

"What are you three doing here?" The sudden question made the bickering duo looked back, the familiar voice hitting their heads hard. To their horror, Jean was already behind them, arms crossed with a serious/curious look. "Gah!" Both of them jumped back once they saw the Acting Grand Master. Lumine only covered her face with her one hand, embarassed by the two's behaviour. "Jeeaaann... what'ca doin' herreee...?" Taufan said, regaining his posture while smiling nervously at her.

You could see him sweatdropping in the face of the blonde haired woman. Paimon did the same, with the 'hehe we totally didn't do anything sus' face. Lumine was just there, staring at the two idiocy, well she didn't mind it anyway. "I was just looking for you. But seeing you three here, then I guess we'll talk here now." Jean replied, the emergency food and underrated boy were sweating real hard, is it the time they faced Jean's wrath? But Paimon and Lumine has just arrived, so why not blame it all on Taufan? Since he was eavesdroppibg on them. "First of all, I'd like to say..." welp, they got busted.
