I woke up to the sun shining on my face, and the sound of construction outside. I rubbed my eyes, and opened the window. I sat down in the window seat, just people watching. I glanced at the clock. 9:45. Didn't I have plans today? I check my phone's calendar. Shit. I have fifteen minutes to get ready to go out for coffee with my friends. I stumbled out of the seat, and threw on a pair of loose jeans, a band tee shirt, and a flannel. And my dirty white Converse, of course. I brushed my hair, and it looked fine as is. I put on some mascara and chapstick and got on my merry way.

We met up at the coffee shop, and somehow got to the topic of boys. Usually, I don't talk about them much, because none had ever really caught my eye. I'm not going to lie, I am a pretty attractive girl, and guys hit on me, I just don't go out with them much. I've never had a boyfriend before, of course, I'd had a few kisses or small little flings, but nothing serious ever. I'd just never been open to it. There were five girls, including me, and two of them had a boyfriend. One of us was just a straight player, and there was a different guy every week, she's Veronica. The one with a boyfriend, just a straight sweetheart, her name was Cheryl. The other with the boyfriend was Max. The other girl was Robin, she's into... well, not guys, she is a lesbian. I mean, of course she was, she was the hottest out of any of us. "So, Allison, any new guys this week?" Veronica asked me. "Um, no, no, well..." I stutter out. "SPILL." Cheryl leans towards me across the table. "Okay, okay, I was at the park yesterday, and I saw this dog, all alone. So I wander around for two hours, and just as I'm about to give up, the really cute guy comes up to me and it's his. When I say cute, I mean insanely hot." I feel myself starting to blush again.

"Oh my God, you've totally got the hots for him!" Max exclaims.

"Okay, maybe, but it's not like it's going anywhere. I mean, I didn't even get a number or anyth-" I stop, remembering something.

     "WHAT?!" Cheryl's eyes get wide.

"When the dog got lost, I checked the tag, and called the number... so it would save into my phone!" I grin.

"OH-KAY you definitely have to text him!" Veronica says. "How am I supposed to start that conversation? Like, 'oh hey, I gave you your dog yesterday in the park.'" "That's exactly how you start it!" Robin basically screams at me. "Okay, okay, I'll text him," I pulled out my phone.

"Hi, you may not remember me, but I'm the girl who gave you back your lost dog yesterday." I sent it. "Oh, yeah, I remember you! The dog walker." He sends with a laughing emoji. "Yeah, yeah."

"Okay, so?" Max says. "He remembers me as a dog walker," I frown. "Ohh..." they all groan. My phone rings. "Shit, he's calling me! What should I do? WHAT DO I DO?" I panic. "ANSWER HIM!" Cheryl shoos me outside.

"Hello?" I answer. "Hey, it's nice to hear your voice again. So how exactly did you get my phone number?" Oh my God, did he really just say that! I can feel the tips of my ears getting hot. "Short answer, your dog's tag," I smile. "Oh, makes sense. Maybe, we could meet up sometime? Talk over coffee or walk through the park? Maybe both?" He stumbles over his words. "Yeah, yeah, I'd- I'd love to." "Okay! Awesome. Um, Le Cafe Coffee tomorrow at 10?" "Okay, I'll see you then." "Alright, bye then." "Bye," I hang up and they all run outside.

"So?!" Max says. "We're going out for coffee tomorrow!" They all start jumping up and down, and I can't help but laugh at how stupid they look. "Alright, alright, calm down." I say in between laughs. "Who's up for my house?" Robin asks. "Duh." We all walk over to Robin's house.

I can't believe that just two days ago, I had been single, no ties, completely free, and now I had a date, well not a date, but coffee plans with a boy I actually liked! I can tell tomorrows just gonna be a great day.
