𝐈𝐓 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐎𝐍𝐄 month later, the day of the snowball. Charlie wore a short red velvet puffy dress with puffed sleeves.

"I look ridiculous!" Charlie yelled

"No you don't, Charlie."

"Why do I have to wear a dress and Max doesn't?"

"Max can't find the dress I bought her."

"What a coincidence." Charlie narrowed her eyes at Max

Max smirked at her, "Look what Mom got you!"

Max pulled out a red velvet bow that matched her dress, "No!"

"Why not?" Max questioned sarcastically

"I'm gonna look like a clown."

"No you'll look beautiful." her mom reassured

Her mom pulled half of her hair back and tied the bow, "See you look beautiful." she said playing with Charlie's hair

"Your shoes are on your bed." Charlie made her way into her room and opened the box on her bed.

In the box were white wedges, "There's no way I'm wearing those." she whispered

She shoved those shoes under her bed and put on her old white Converse. She grabbed her walkman.

"Dustin, do you copy? Over."

"Yeah I copy. Over."

"Steve's driving you to the Snowball, right? Over."

"Yeah, and his neighbors. Over."

"Can I come? Over."

"Why are you always so last minute? Over." Dustin groaned

"I don't feel like listening to my Mom scolding me about not wearing her stupid heels she bought me. Over."
