Y/n pov:

Hi! my name is y/n, and this is the insane story of me and my best friend Charlie. 

Charlie and I have been friends from birth.  My mom Evelyn and Charlie's mom Sally have been friends since high school.

They promised that they would raise their kids together so that they could be friends.

Turns out that if you want to raise your kids next door to your high school best friend husbands tend to leave.

Yep both my mom and Charlie's mom had their husbands leave.

Well their plan worked. A little more than worked.

But that's for later.

The story starts when Charlie got her new car.

"Hey Char!"  I called to her while she was looking into an old beat up Chevrolet Camaro painted yellow.

"Hey y/n!"  She said pulling her head out of the car.

She was wearing one of the shirts I had bought her but she cut the sleeves off.  Of course.

"How's this one look?"  I asked running my hand on the hood.

"Looks like a keeper."  She said patting the door.

I smiled and she smiled back at me. God I love her big stupid smile.

"Want to hot wire it with me?"  She smirked I look her dead in the eye.

"No shit."  We laugh and jump into the old car.

"Ok I'm taking it back to my uncles place to fix it up, but once it's good to go I'm taking you to a drive in movie." 

I knew it wasn't a date but I was just as excited.

Charlie hot wired the car and got it going.

"Here we go!"  She exclaimed as we started driving.

As we drove to the garage we drove past both of our houses. My mom saw me and the car and stopped us.

"Y/n get your fancy green eyes inside the house right now!"  I rolled my 'fancy green eyes' and opened the door.

If you don't have green eyes you do now

"Hey I'll be there for dinner."  I nodded and walked into the house.

Time skip

"Henry will you bring the salad to the table." Henry (my little brother) grabbed the salad bowl and set it on the table.

I set the pitcher of water on the table as the back door opened.

"Hey everyone." Sally said followed by Charlie.

"Hey Char." I said giving her a side hug.

"Hey y/n." She said leaning down to take her shoes off.

"Did you get the car all fixed up?" She smirked and nodded.

"Alright you two let's eat." My mom said making both of us sit down.

Charlie pov:

I sat at the dinner table next to y/n we were both listing to her mom talk about work.

I looked over at Henry and ho was flicking his peas down the table.

"Henry! I spent good money on those peas you will eat them." Henry groaned as  Evelyn picked up the peas and set them on his plate.

I continued to eat my food but I felt a nudge under the table. I looked down to see y/n's dog rocky begging for food. 

"Don't feed him."  Y/n said punching me lightly on the arm.

"I wasn't going to!"  I said putting my hands up in defense.

"We are trying to train him don't give him people food."  I looked down at rocky he smiled and started wagging his tail.

(Idk if y'all have seen a dog smile 😭 I just love it when they do.)

"Rocky, bed."  Y/n said his tail stopped wagging and he walked over to his dog bed and laid down.

"So Char, how's the new car?" Evelyn asked.

"Turns out he's an alien who can transform into a giant robot that talks."

"Oh, it's great! The interior is nice hardly damaged the one downside is I have to hot wire it every time I want to start it."

They nodded. I felt something touch my hand. I looked at my hand and saw y/n putting her hand in mine.

"I always forget how rough your hands are." I blush a little. "Yea mechanics hands."

After dinner y/n and I went outside. "Just think Char, in a few months we'll be off at college." I slid out from under bumblebee.

"I know, it's crazy to think about." I sat up and wiped my hands on a rag.

"I can't believe we got into the same college."

I chuckled, "yea my dumb ass got into the same school as y/n/yln valedictorian top of her class every year of school."

"Shut up."  She said snaking the back of my head.

We both laugh and look out towards the sun set.

"I'm going to miss this view."  Y/n said running her hand trough her hair.

I looked up at her, her green eyes were catching the golden glow of the sun turning them a shade of hazel.

"I can feel you staring at me Char."  I quickly turned my head and looked out at the sunset.

"We should probably get home."  She said picking up some of my tools and putting them in the tool box.

"Yea our moms will be mad if we get gone after dark."  We picked up all the tools and set them in the back seat.

We got home and y/n got out of the car.

"See you tomorrow for breakfast Char."  I said good night and drove home.
