Chapter 8 - the move

After a lot of saving I could finally afford to move me and Rhea into a little flat near the university I had entered. It was perfect for us. Small, quiet and close enough to my uni I would only need to get a babysitter for an 1 hour max. The only downside, it was in Manchester. This meant the mount family would no longer be my rock of support and I would have to learn to live without debbie and Jaz being there to help. I felt like it was a big step for me. We had finally moved all my stuff into the flat and the mounts were just about to leave. "Come here kiddo" Tony said to me before pulling me into a hug, "I'm so proud of you. You are a great mum kiddo, I won't miss you calling me big t though." He said into my ear before I pulled away laughing. "Thank you Tony truly." I said before walking to Lewis, "you truly are a great mum Lia, you were born to do this. Don't stay away to long please." He said before kissing the top of my head and walking away. Next was Mason. I was scared for this. I walked towards him and opened my arms offering a hug. He stepped toward me and embraced me. "They're right lils you are amazing. I'm going to miss you. I love you lils. Forever and always." Mase said before kissing my forehead and leaving the room before I could reply. Tears stung my eyes and I didn't know how to feel. Mase just said the three words I alway dreamed of him saying to me. Debbie walked toward me and pulled me into a hug. "Princess you can do this. I always knew you could and now it's even clearer to me. We are so proud of you. Don't leave it to long before you visit please." She said before pulling away and squeezing my hand. I nodded at her to scared to talk. It hit me. I knew who was left. I turned around to be met with my bestfriend in tears. "Please don't leave." She begged me before running into my open arms. I started sobbing, "you know i can't do that. You will always be number one Jazzy okay? Never forget that." I said before squeezing her tighter in the hug. "You are my sister lia I could never forget that. I'm going to miss you both so much." She said between sobs. I shook my head, "I'm going to miss you as well. You will have to come and visit and I'll come visit you as well don't worry jazzy. I adore you. But you need to go before you make me want to leave. I love you. I really do." I said before pulling away. "I love you so much lia." Jaz said before waving and shutting my front door behind her. I always knew it would be hard but I never expected a confession from mason as well. I now knew this was the best option. It meant I couldn't be drawn to the attraction of him and that saved my friendship with Jaz.
After unpacking my last little bits and settling Rhea down for the night I heard a knock at my door. I looked at Rhea who was still sound asleep in her cot and picked the baby monitor up and walked to my front door. I opened it to be meet with a girl. "Hi I'm Emma, I live next door and wanted to come and say hi. I know how scary this can be moving here." "Hi Emma, I'm Ophelia, do you want to come in?" I asked. She nodded her head. "You've made it really nice in here. I hate to admit it but I'm nosy and saw a cot being brought up. Do you have a baby? Sorry if that's rude, I don't think before I speak sometimes." I laughed, "we are going to get along great but yea I do, hers names Rhea and she's 9 months old. I'm 19 before you ask." She looked up at me shocked. "Really? That's great go you." I smiled at her, "it's been tough but I've made it." I sighed. She nodded. "Do you know who the dad is?" She asked picking up a photo of me, Jaz and Rhea. "Yea, it's complicated though and he doesn't know he's her dad. I know that makes me seem like a bad person but it's a long story." Emma turned to look at me. "I've got all night if you need to get it off your chest." We went and sat down on the sofa and I explained everything and told her how Mase was her dad. Once I was done I had a few tears rolling down my face. "Oh babe, that's a lot to keep to yourself." She said as she rubbed my knee. "It doesn't make you a bad person. I can understand why you have done it but maybe one day you should tell him." She suggested. "Maybe, we'll see." I said after shrugging. "Can I be Rheas new aunty? I love kids." I nodded, "the support would be great." She threw her arms around my neck, "I'm going to be your guardian Angel." She whispered. That was it. I had finally told someone Mase was the dad. It felt great. Moving from Portsmouth might of been the best thing to happen to me. I sighed, I already missed Jaz.
