Chapter 7 - new beginnings

It had been 6 months since my little girl was born and she was perfect. Ever since she was born Rhea made me feel complete. Today we were all going to Stamford Bridge as Mason had recently starting playing for his boyhood club. I was so proud of him. We had travelled up to London the night before so it was easier to get there and I was just getting Rhea ready into a Chelsea onesie when mason walked in. "Hi lils, where is the little girl then?" He asked. He hadn't seen Rhea in a while due to his busy training schedule. "Hello Rhea, your looking very beautiful." He said to her. "Your doing a great job lils. Honestly, I can't imagine how hard it is being a parent." I shrugged, "she's worth all of it, she's perfect Mason and I never knew I could love anyone or anything this much until she was born." I said before picking her up and placing her into her pram. I went to walk out the room before mason grabbed my wrist and stopped me. "I should of said this earlier but I'm so sorry about how I treated you after the party. I know I was with Chloe at the time but I truly do care for you and I didn't mean to lead you on." He said before pushing some hair behind my ear. "It's okay Mase, yea it hurt being told it meant nothing to you but I know why it was said." I said before looking to the floor. "It did mean something lils" he said bringing my chin up to look at me. He looked directly into my eyes before I saw his eyes flicker to my lips. "Your gorgeous lils, I don't think I've ever said that to you but you are." I blushed, mason had never been like this with me. Sure growing up there for some flirty banter but I never thought he liked me back. He leaned in and pressed a passionate but soft kiss to my lips. I put my arms around his neck and tickled the back of his neck with my nails. We were interrupted but Rhea crying. I pulled back before going to soothe Rhea. "Mase I like you, I always will but we can't do this to Jazzy im sorry." "I know, I just wanted to remember what it felt like." He said before opening the door to walk out. "Wait mase." I wanted to tell him so bad. "Yea lils?" He asked looking hopeful. I couldn't tell him even after all of this. "Maybe in another lifetime we would work, just not this one." I sighed. His smile quickly turned into a frown. "Your right. I just hoped it was this one." He said before quickly walking out the room. I should feel relieved and happy we were on the same page but I didn't. I was heartbroken. The only man I truly liked and I couldn't have him. I pushed the thought to the back of my mind. Anything for Jazzy.
4 hours later
We were all enjoying our time at the bridge. It was weird finally seeing all the behind the scenes places you don't get to see when watching the game. "Jaz can you take turn with Rhea please?This baby carrier is breaking my back today" she nodded before mason interrupted, "can I take her?" I looked st him shocked. "Are you sure?" I asked to double check what I had heard. He nodded. "Okay" I sorted it all out and quickly took a picture of the moment. He might never know she was his but at least I could have these memories. We walked around for ages before Mase took Rhea out and placed her on the managers chair in the dug out. "One day Rhea, this could be you. Managing or playing I'm sure your mummy will support you in either." He whispered to her thinking nobody could hear him. He did this quite often given Rhea little talks. It melted my heart. "Mase hold her there so I can get a picture please?" He nodded whilst I took a few pictures. "Rhea you are gorgeous my girl." I said when I walked over to them. "Just like your mum." I heard mason mumble under his breath. I was shocked. Did he really like me? "Lia come here." Jaz shouted at me distracting me from my thoughts. "Are you okay with her still?" I asked Mase before he nodded and shooed me away. I smiled. Maybe I should tell him she was his. Or would that change things. I really needed to stop. Rhea was a new beginning for me and I couldn't mess it up by telling mason she was his. This would be a secret I had to keep. Forever and always.
