JIM HATES HIS FUCKING JOB.
Now, he'll never say that out-loud, because people would call him a hand-full of things — lazy, selfish, ungrateful — the list goes on. It's not like he cares what anyone else thinks . . . but he does, a little, because who the hell wants to be known as an ungrateful cop? Not him, and he knows that. And, honestly, he really doesn't hate the profession as a whole. He doesn't hate the idea of stopping crime and arresting the bad-guys and going around town saying, "Sheriff's department", while holding up his badge like he's in a detective movie. He likes all of that, it's why he went to academy training and put himself through hell-and-back to get the job he's been pining over since he could walk — but this town is so goddamn boring.
