Just as the month passed Iruma's birthday was tomorrow Lucy and (Y/n) wanted to do something special for him. They spent a long while saving up for his mini party. They had to have the birthday party in their room because Iruma's parents would question where we got the money to pay for everything.

"Happy birthday Iruma!" (Y/n) smiled as he held a very small cake with a candle on top. Iruma had the biggest grin and seemed almost in tears. Lucy gave him a gift from both of them. Iruma looked shocked and opened it immediately. It was a necklace locket with the picture of the three of them in it. He hugged both of them and thanked them. They all hugged him apologizing for not making anything more grander for him. He told them this was better than any party he's ever had. Even if the room was decorated with a few decorations, some streamers, a few balloons and a handful of food to celebrate. They quietly spent the night partying and got rid of the evidence right after.

Another month passed and (Y/n) had gotten better with working and since they all were earning more than before they were able to get more toys and clothes and just in general provide more for themselves. But that never stopped Iruma from looking over at the kids our age in school uniforms and wanting to join them. (Y/n) noticed and gave a sad side glance as he peeled potatoes.

"Soon once Lucy earns some more money we can send you to school." (Y/n) gave a small smile seeing what Iruma yearned for. Iruma shook his head.

"It wouldn't be fair for me to go and not you." He argued but (Y/n) pointed the peeler at him.

"I was in training to be a future duke. I've had enough learning to last me my whole life. You on the other hand barely went to school. So if Lucy had to choose, I would rather it be you than me. I know how much you want to go." (Y/n) rebuilded back and Iruma just sulked.

"I thought it would be fun for the both of us..." He whispered.

"...Iruma I don't want you to spend your life like this." (Y/n) blurted out of nowhere.

"Huh?" He questioned.

"Like this doing random things for even a dime. I want you to go to school and have friends and nice clothes and soft hands that aren't rough from long hours of work." (Y/n) explained and Iruma just was wide eyed.

"I've never thought of doing anything outside of work so even if I did what would I do? Where would I go?" Iruma Asked sadly.

"With me you could come with us! I don't care what my parents would say!" he urged but Iruma just shook his head.

"No I couldn't do that to my parents, they need me." Iruma sadly whispered. (Y/n) didn't like the answer he just shut up with tears welding up in his eyes as they finished their work in silence.

Another month has passed and it was christmas. It was snowing outside and the kids were huddled on the bed with a mini tree on the dresser and 6 gifts, 2 for each of them.

"Open yours first (Y/n)!" Lucy suggested and  Iruma agreed.

"Okay!" (Y/n) opened the neatly wrapped gifts in his favorite colors. One had a camera the other a stuffed fox. (Y/n) was in awe and gave them both hugs. "Thank you, I love them!"

"Iruma your next!" (Y/n) shouted, handing him his gifts. Iruma smiled and took them unwrapping them.

"Huh earrings?" he questioned, confused as he opened a small box showing some crystal earrings.

"They are for protection. I know that as you get older you will work harder and more dangerous jobs just take these as a good luck charm! They are a family heirloom but I have no use for them." (Y/n) smiled and Iruma just nodded.

"They are really nice and I really do like them but I dont have my ears pierced..." he exclaimed sadly Lucy laughed.

"Don't worry I'll do it for you later if you want. One of my older jobs was piercing ears. I did a very good job but then I was not allowed to do it anymore cus people were worried about how unsanitary it was but I sanitized everything before use." Lucy explained.

"Ooh I see, then I'll take you up on the offer later. But Lucy, you gave me books!" Iruma held the books in his hands, his eyes lit up with joy.

"I had to ask around alot reading the characters for Japan is a lot harder than I thought the store worker said this would be good for you to start off with." Lucy suggested and Iruma started to look through them.

"Okay Lucy, open yours!" Iruma picked the presents up and gave them to Lucy.

"Oooh more bandanas the scarf I was wearing was getting old and dirty. Thank you Iruma!" He thanked Iruma and gently set them on his lap.

"Lucy I got you this pocket watch like the one Raphael has! I found it in an antique store. I thought it was perfect for you!" (Y/n) excitingly gifted the watch and Lucy was speechless.

"This looks even better than Raphael's watch thank you (Y/n)." Lucy thanked him with a smile.

"Well now that the presents are over, let's drink some coco and eat!" Iruma shouted and the three of them joyced and had another night full of each other's company.

Another month gone and with this January it was especially cold because it snowed a lot. (Y/n) was shoveling snow with Iruma in the snow covered driveway. They're job this time was to shovel the snow and put it somewhere else so the ladies' driveway was safe to get out of. Cold was freezing (Y/n) though he just wanted to warm up at home but Iruma was working so hard that it made him want to push harder and finish the job.

"Iruma what are we going to do with the snow?" (Y/n) questioned leaning on his shovel.

"I don't know but we should dump it on the side of the house to get it out of the way completely." Iruma suggested pausing for a moment then pointing to the side of the house.

"What a waste of snow... Oh! I have an idea!" (Y/n) giggled, grabbing a wagon the homeowner had.

"What are you doing?" Iruma laughed, dropping his shovel to help (Y/n) get the wagon from under some snow.

"Let's take the snow home and build a snowman!" (Y/n) explained running to get his shovel again.

"Ooooh! That's a good idea, we should do that!"  Iruma picked his shovel up and they both started shoveling the snow in the wagon.

After an hour and a few trips back and forth they finished, got paid and had a huge pile of snow on their front lawn! Around this time they were pulling their final load in the wagon. (Y/n) was pulling the handle and Iruma was pushing it from behind. They both were really tired and cold at this point. Then a white worker van came around the corner and quickly got away from the road and on the sidewalk. It stopped right in front of them and the door opened and Lucy came out surprised to see them.

"Oye Mateo, you can leave me here. Imma help my brother and his friend. I'll see you tomorrow, okay." Lucy explained and the driver Mateo nodded.

"K kid i'll see you tomorrow get some rest bye." Mateo smiled and drove off Lucy waving him bye as he drove off.

"Didn't I tell you both you didn't need to work in the winter! I can pay for our stuff and rent for the winter." Lucy scolded. The two boys just looked down.

"We're sorry but Lucy, we just wanted to help." Iruma wisphered.

"Humph I'm not sorry! We just wanted to help, Charlotte says only say sorry when you mean it." (Y/n) stubbornly stated crossing him.

"Well Mrs. Charlotte will get you in trouble." Lucy said as (Y/n) just pouted.  "Oh so you wanna be like that huh." Lucy smiled then threw (Y/n) over his shoulder laughing with Iruma.

"Lucy! Let me down! Lucy! Lucy!" (Y/n) shouted squirming as Lucy grabbed the wagon the two boys were pulling and walked the way back home. Iruma was laughing the whole way as (Y/n) was dying of embarrassment.
