You were walking with him as the conversation closed off into the dead silence you hated so much. Light chuckled as a half-assed response. The fall breeze brushed against you and you stared down trying to cough up some sort of courage.

“I know who you are, Kira.”

You had been searching around. You were intrigued by the Kira case. For some reason you still thought you were a main character. You thought if you caught Kira people would praise you. You wanted the love, attention and respect that you never got as a child. There was always something better than you but beating the world's best detectives you can't one up that. As you watched all of the criminals this person had caused to collapse to their knees you got committed. You tried to play the devil's advocate by going onto websites of Kira supporters. Reading all these things that these criminals had done made you disappointed in humanity. Slowly you became a reject to society. You got spiteful towards your parents. You became obsessed with the topic of Kira. Slowly you understood, the people in power were nothing but hateful and got away with too many crimes. More and more cases you didn’t blame him for what he did. As you narrowed down ideas to just simply how this person acted and what circumstances could have caused it. You started to slowly insert yourself into these peoples’ lives. One boy caught your eye. His father was a cop and he wanted to be a cop. He also seemed somewhat impatient. It wouldn’t be surprising if he wanted to play justice before he actually became a cop. Along with this you had investigated some religions and found a niche mythology that would explain what tool he could use to commit his crimes. You decided to confront him.

Light stared at the ground. His pupil size rapidly fluctuated as he tried to stay calm. Eventually he turned to you back with his regular friendliness.

“What do you mean? You really think I'd be Kira?” You heard a slight nervousness in his voice.

“Stop denying me. I know you hate to lose but you aren’t running from this. Don’t ask how I found you.” He looked a little panicked as you kept eye contact. Seeing an alley soon up on the sidewalk you pulled him over.

“You’re kidding right? This is unreasonable Y/N. I’m not some sociop-”  His rambling was interrupted as you pushed him up against the alley wall.

“You are telling me somebody who is not in the slightest guilty wouldn’t be stuck in head to the point he didn’t know turning into an alley?” His eyes started to look around noticing you were right. He laughed nervously about to go on another rant about how he was innocent.
Grabbing him by his chin you explained the small details to him. You explained the mythology to him adding how it lined up. You saw him slowly look at you with anger yet he still had some confidence in him.

“You can’t arrest me with mythology. For somebody working to become a cop as well I thought you’d know that.” he pulled a cocky smile at you showing a bit of teeth.

“I never said I was doing this for the cops. For being innocent that sounded a bit cocky, dontcha’ think?” He looked at you with shock. He stuttered trying to understand your purpose. Then you saw the mask practically slide off his face.

“Well then a fellow vigilante I'm assuming? You wanted to play god like me right?” He flipped on you, turning you around and putting you in the same position he was. “You’ll never be equal to me. You don’t have a shinigami and are obviously an amatuer. It’s Pathetic to think you are an equal to me. Let alone the fact you would attack another vigilante. The hypocrisy from you is depressing to turn in one of your own somebody you should idolize for fame. Life isn’t fair, they would shame you and take credit for your work Y/N.”
