It was your birthday today, but you weren't sure if Light could remember. As the day went on you got more and more upset that he never said anything to you. He did share some popcorn with you and watch one of the movies you were into at the moment. He was more affectionate but not enough to make you think he remembered. He was your favorite person. You never cared for your family and you practically lived at his house. In fact, you were planning to move your stuff over to his house. Dropping your current apartment. You couldn't really afford to keep it anyways.

Light did have a good amount of money, plus he preferred to show his love for you with physical things so he didn't mind dropping money on you. On your birthday though, He doesn't drop a dollar on you. It was frustrating not to mention it was close to 10pm. You were starting to hold back tears. Hell you even wore a pretty dress and a little lingerie because you expected him to do something.

You laid down on your side a tear shedding and dripping onto his sheets. You heard Light get out of the shower and after a couple minutes he walked out to grab some sweatpants. You wanted to hit him for his cluelessness.

"I'm headed out for a bit. I'll be back in like 10ish" He said to you as he walked out of the bedroom. You could take it anymore. You just started to cry. Regretting committing to him like this. It sucked just how much you loved this man. Sitting there bawling your eyes out for a couple minutes you heard a few weird noises. Eventually you just accepted it and closed your eyes, drifting into sleep.

Your eyes opened in the slightest as you heard your name. What really grabbed your attention was a lovely smell. You got kinda dazed assuming this was a dream. Your "dreaming" was interrupted by Light's hand on your chin. His fingers were always cold so it wasn't too comforting. You opened your eyes and looked at Light. He still had the lamp turned on and didn't seem sleepy.

"Awake finally?" That condescending tone made you want to hit him. He was so insensitive. He grabbed you by your ribs and pulled you to sit up. He looked at you and to be honest, those doe eyes almost made you forgive him. He got off of you and grabbed something off the bedside table. You heard the sound of porcelain and quickly went to look at what he grabbed.

He had a cute little red velvet cupcake. He grabbed it and passed it over to you . These little cupcakes had frosting shaped like roses and genuinely made you happy again. He also had some wine for you. This was definitely meant for you. He didn't actually like very many alcoholic drinks but occasionally he would have a strong drink mixed with whatever he felt like. He rarely drank wine though. He settled down next to you and gave you a genuine smile.

"Were you crying??" He sounded panicked. "I'll let you have access to the death note if somebody's upsetting you. No, that might be too much is it?" Another reminder this man had no idea how to comfort people. You just looked away from him and ate a bite of the cupcake. You looked a little ashamed for expecting him to not do something. You were definitely annoyed by the way he waited till the end of the day.

Once again Light grabbed your chin you honestly didn't know how he hadn't given you bruises with that by now. He pulled your face towards him and he kissed you. There was some form of softness in his eyes you hadn't seen before or rarely saw.

" Happy birthday" you looked at him he was concerned by just how much your eyes lit up. You set your cupcake to the side and he looked at you pretty confused. You moved your knee over his legs. You sat on top of him, his legs sitting in between yours. For a moment or two your eyes glided down as he apparently never put on a shirt. He chuckled for just a second as you stood over him dazed by him. You really couldn't help it. He had muscles that were defined but his body wasn't rugged. Your eyes shot up realizing you had been staring at him for a hot minute.
